Hey everyone,
Just got my mini-split up and running and seeing how good it works it has me thinking of how to setup the exhaust.
Normally I have an environmental controller that turns the exhaust fan on when it gets to a certain temp or humidity. This ends up working good because it is bringing in fresh air/co2 at the same time.
So now I am thinking of a couple options.
Option 1 is to have the exhaust set to come on at say 80f then have the mini-split set at 83f so that I'm still getting fresh air but it if it gets to hot that the fan can't handle it the mini-split will take over.
Option 2 is to put the exhaust fan on a timer or hooked up to a co2 controller so that the co2 levels don't drop to low. The mini-split will do most of the cooling.
Option 3 is to eliminate the exhaust except for emergency and get a co2 burner or bottles. I tried a sealed room and co2 burner before and my plants didn't like it at all. I think I was getting some kind of gas build up, maybe the burner wasn't functioning properly.
Bottles sound like a pain in the ass, but maybe they would last longer if i was only shooting for normal co2 levels.
What do you guys think? Any input or opinions would be great.
Thanks
