If one species of primates broke off into chimpanzees and us.... then what is to stop OUR species of human breaking off into other types of humans?
I think its possible we are already seperating as a human race. Maybe some of us will evolve into aliens... less muscle mass, more brain tissue.
Maybe this process of evolution is happening on other planets, hence why we already have aliens visiting us. These other planets were just faster or started earlier in the evolution game then us.
But I find it interesting. The stereotype of a meathead jock football player. He looks more ape-like... large jaw. Square head. You can see it easier... than say the nerdy dude with glasses, which has a thin neck, thin body, but a brain that seems more geared for neocortex thinking.
So I think the next wave of evolution is that some humans will start looking more alien-like. We need more brain matter to keep us with the flow of information our technology is making.
Also our technology now allows us to do less physical work, so we won't be needing so much brute strenght anymore. That will evolve out.
