THEY STRIPPED SEARCHED ME

THEY STRIPPED SEARCHED ME

I had a similar situation entering Canada from the East Coast in November/2005. I was going to a funeral in Canada, got to the airport, first custom agent asked me a bunch of personal questions (where do I work, if I was married, how many kids, etc.) then he sent me to second agent who asked me the same questions over and over and then some more, next to a third agent, at this time I was fuming with anger, I told the third agent that I hate the Canadian system here and started an argument with them at which time two officers put me in a room and strip search me and my traveling bag then detained me for a while, telling me that I had no VALID reason to enter Canada. I started cursing at them and told them to send me the fuck back to the US. A Chinese/Korean looking custom agent started making some fucked up remarks like, why do AMERICANS feel that they can go to other countries and do as they feel, finally after about 3 hours of interrogation they let me go and right after the funeral I left their country, the same day.

FUCK THE CANADIAN CUSTOMS, I AM AN AMERICAN AND PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN , WHOSOEVER DON'T LIKE AMERICANS CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES AND THEIR MOTHER.

This is some funny shit... I went to Toronto in '04 to visit some friends for christmas and I drove with one of my friends. We got so ridiculously chiefed before crossing the boarder. Of course we get searched because we both look like hippies at the time. I cleaned out everything real good except for a pack of Randy's wired hemp papers that I forgot (they looked through my shit better than I did). They ask me what they are for and I said rolling a cigarette and paper is legal last time I checked. So they tell me they are going to spray them with a spray that will turn a certain color if there is any THC residue on it. I said ok but you owe me a pack of papers. I wait and get asked a million questions firing as many smart ass responsed back as I could think of. They tell me the papers didn't have any residue and then asked me if I want them back. I said no they sell them on your side and my side but I'll be sure to burn one and think of how much of a puppet you are with every puff. They deny us entry because we don't have $40/day to sustain ourselves while we are here. So we drive through the US customs tell them what happend and they laugh and tell us to go through. We do a 180 right in the middle of the road and get right back in line to enter Canada again. They waive us right through this time and we cruise in victory with my arm extended as far out of the car as possible telling them they are number one with my middle finger.. haha.

In amsterdam when I was going back into the US they are real cool and don't want you to accidently bring something back and get in trouble. They saw I was stoned to the point of no return and made me look again through my shit. They are actually looking out for you instead of looking to bust you.

That seems odd that you can't come to vist the cafes but if you were to say you were coming to vist our bars for the "stronger" beer and get drunk as a skunk, they'd probally let you through. What if you said you were coming to smoke some nice cuban cigars because you aren't allowed them in your country and you just thought they'd be nice to smoke, I'm sure they'd let you in. It seems like more and more everyday that the prohibition is more of a penis contest than anything else, I don't mind Americans, I just don't like people like your president, if anything he should be denied entry from every country in the world, after all isn't he a terroist?
If you like your president that is your choice and that is fine this is just my opinion so please don't think I am picking on you or anything like that.

My friend had canadas customs deny him entry a month ago, he was going to toronto to some pick up some seeds. Its about a 4 hour drive from here. he said he was going to niagara to gamble. so they searched his car and found addresses of seeds banks. He was questioned for about 3 hours. but he is allowed back in the country, but he has to state he was trying to buy seeds next time he crosses the border. I was also planning a trip to vancouver this summer or next summer, get some bud and do outdoorsy stuff. I think im going to amsterdam instead. I dont wanna be turned back to the US after traveling 1000 miles after the stories ive heard. As the south park saying goes. "Fuck Canada!" they are not cool anymore to me, well except ricky, julian, and bubbles. and the stanley cup will be staying in the US this year, woo.

You hit the nail on the head.

I wish the rest of the world felt that way...I think a lot of people just hate us. I wish they knew how many of us hate our President, too.

And now the three-headed beast (Blair-Bush-Harper) controls the "free world" and seeks to "spread democracy" while simultaneously eroding the individual rights of it's own citizens.

Steel City Sensi^^^My gut tells me many things,

Steel City Sensi^^^My gut tells me many things,

and this;

>>>>>>but he has to state he was trying to buy seeds next time he crosses the border.<<<<<

has my gut saying that this would be a mistake. Has he already admitted to anyone that his intent was to purchase seeds?

#1 rule of dealing with officials (ironically as stated by some CID investigators I knew from military employment);

"admit nothing, deny everything, demand an attorney...." -or- simple translation, "don't say a fucking thing!"

Canada's Customs aren't technically 'law enforcement' traditionally speaking; they don't carry guns, etc., etc.

But they are linked to U.S. Customs by data base, who most definitely ARE LEO.

An admission of intent, AFTER being let go, etc., sounds like BAD ju ju to me. But it's your friend's trip......

Re. Canadian Customs and Canada in general; I cross the nothern border with Alaska fairly frequently, and haven't been hassled in nearly 20 years; attitude, demeanor, reasons for travel, age, residency, etc., have a lot to do with this.

And most trips, I get hassled more by U.S. Customs (my own country) than I do by Canada's.

Many Americans aren't tuned in to what OUR Customs has done to others.

There's a journalist/publisher from Ottawa area who is of Mid-East descent whose name is SIMILAR to some jihadist. He was on his way home to Ottawa, and touched down at JFK. He was flown on an 'extraordinary rendition' flight to Jordan, and later Syria, tortured, placed in a sub-surface earthen-walled 'holding cell,' etc., for several months, finally convinced his torturers that he wasn't who they thought he was (thank god he didn't succumb to the pain and just start admitting to b.s. that he wasn't guilty of, as many might do) and returned to his country.

He filed suit against the U.S. government, and specific agencies in particular, and was recently told by our courts that he has no legal claim.

I've crossed the U.S. border BACK INTO Alaska, on a Harley Davidson Electraglide, and had them ask me if I'm smuggling weapons into Canada!! Where??!! Up my keister??

I've come back into Alaska Customs after a lake trout fishing trip 2 weeks after 9/11, and their definition of 'increased security' was to erroneously tell me that I couldn't have the number of lake trout that I did (my two Canadian friends had each given me a fish, as well as my fish, and the last time I checked, U.S. Customs isn't in the employ of Canadian Dept. of Conservation Mgmt; that particular muscle-bound idiot was quite obviously attempting to impress a new, large-chested, blonde U.S. Customs officer of the female persuasion who was new to that station.

I called up their game management people in Whitehorse after I got back and before calling my Congress folks to say, "What the fuck." just to make sure that I was on solid ground, and sure enough, Canadian fish and game folks told me that I had been completely legit and the pin-head at Ak. Customs hadn't studied the regs very well; not nearly as well as he was apparently studying his new co-worker's chest.

I've literally had them yell at me because when asked where I live (at 5:00 A.M. after driving all night), I'd had the audacity to say, "Just South of XXXXX." Rather than a specific pin-point location (after which now-a-days, when one of their pointier pin-heads asks me what I'm bringing back from Canada, I give them a list of EVERYTHING, right down to the candy bar wrappers, and though my wife has asked me not to when she's in the truck, an additional comment of 'fond memories of a less fascist, less miltarized nation.' might be in order as well.

I won't go on, but I could share HUNDREDS of stories of border absurdities.

"Send us your weak, your sick, your hungry, tired, and poor..... and let us interrogate them." I must've missed that part on the statue of liberty, huh...

Bottom line: Many persons in many countries who have control over others are often the last persons in the entire world who should have such authority, because they often seem to seek that authority for all the wrong reasons.

Thank God that Dutch, German, Danish and most Canadian customs officers have, to date, shown me that there actually ARE customs officers who've maintained some semblance of humanity when they put on those authoritarian-looking uniforms, or I'd have lost faith altogether.

I think that you're close to the mark there, ZOGR.

Having someone seize control of your body, freedom, movement, etc., is an eye-opener if it's never happened to you before. Nothin' puts the brakes on your otherwise peaceful reality like the cuffs going 'click.'

Fear, especially when added to persons with too much authority, has a terndency to make persons act in ugly ways.

Welcome to the era of fear and power unleashed. Every fascists wet dream come true.

Similar thing happened to me once, but i guees i deserved it for trying to cross the border with an individual who had an outstanding warrant for intent to distribute. Consequently he was visting me from his home so he also had a fair amount of cash and packed bagges. Keep in mind i knew none of this prior to our arrival; what a fun search that was DOOH! However, for my bachelor party we crossed the border with a limo that had many a hidden stash, and we drove right through with 20 beligrent drunks. It is the luck of the draw and you need to act the role! DWI is a big deal in canada for sure, as well it should be! Did they tell you when you may return if ever, not that you would want too but.....Take a Hike then fly from an east coat canadian airport next time..JK

I got busted with a pistol trying to cross into Canada from Montana. I had it hidden in a hollowed out spare battery, which was in the spare battery holder, complete with dummy cables. I don't know how, but the fockers found it, and then they emptied ALL my chit out into the parking lot. They took my gun and my fuzzbuster and told me to have a nice day.

If it makes you feel better, President Bush, as a civilian, is not legally permitted in Canada due to his past DWI conviction...

Canada has granted Bush a temporary waiver to enter the country while he's President, but after that, it's again, no Canadian entry for Bush LOL!

In the world of the net, there's little need to bring much information / books, etc ... better yet, view / download what information one desires at the destination via the net; don't buy books, etc abroad unless very unique - instead order on-line.

Customs can and do scrutinize what information one possesses ... and that can include content contained on cell phones, notebook computers, etc. While such in-depth searches are uncommon, they do happen - some folks on an adult site GFY.com have complained of such searches by customs when attending adult conferences abroad.

One basically has no recourse with customs - as another poster already pointed out ... say little to nothing and keep answers simple and brief.

wow, when i was 18 i crossed from detroit to Windsor for an over night bar crawl for a friends 18th birthday. I only had my drivers license and state college ID card, but no birth certificate or soc security card. Long story short, because of this, they detained us for over 2 hrs in a holding room for absolutely no reason. It was very obvious what a car full of 18yr old college students would have done at a place where it was legal to gamble/drink at 18. But instead they gave me the barrage of questions as well. Before reading this post i thought that it was some random occurance, but it seems like customs agents really are pricks. Is anyone else from the US planning on going to the tornoto cannibus cup? I was still contimplating going, but if its going to be this much of a hassle I might as well stay home and smoke the same quality/better bud here

I seriously don't understand why someone should be barred entry for a dui conviction. Maybe if that person was driving it would make sense, but I would expect that Canada and the U.S. have similar laws regarding this so if I had a dui and completed whatever sentence was handed to me and had my driving privledges restored why shouldn't that satisfy Canada? What if it was a conviction from 10 years ago and I haven't even had so much as a parking ticket since? How about i'm flying into Toronto and have no intentions of even renting a car? Is this really the law in Canada? Anyone have any 'net references for this?
I'm also curious about what America would deny people entry for. I'm looking for info on the web now.

Peace.
