how big is your flowering space, how much light are you using, what size are your containers?

I am in 3.5' x 3.5' with about 5 feet of headroom from floor to my hood. 600 w's for flower. I started with 20 plants, now down to 16. 16 of these 1/2 gallon pots is ideal in my space, 4 rows of 4. I picked up a new slimmer scrubber and after this batch is done I will be re-arranging things inside to get another 1-1.5 feet of headroom and then I want to try either 9, 2 gallon pots, or 4-6 of the 3 or 4 gallon pots. I only grow for personal so i want to keep my numbers as low as possible, plus with some bigger pots, I won't be having to hand water 20 pots everyday. If I can pull 12 oz's or so out of the cab every ~70 days I am a happy man, and if I can do it by watering less? sign me up!

im in a closet which is split for veg & bloom
using a 400W hps the bloom area is 39'' L x 20" D with 7 feet of headroom
i figure the max total i can get in there is 15 using 1 1/2 gal sq pots
i dont mine hand watering because i do it with a water pump plugged into a surge protector i can flick the switch on and off to control the water flow it works well

with 4-5 plants i know i can pull at least 2-3 oz every 4 weeks
and then it will probably b 1-2 plants of each strain when i grow out some more seeds

In a 1.5 gallon pot you get alot of plant with coco. A 1.5 gallon pot is 3x the coco i am using in my pots, so you will be looking at a much larger root mass than I am working with. If you tripled the size of some of my plants, there is no way 10 of them would fit into your space, with 10 plants in your closet each plant has an 8" x 10" footprint. I would do your perpetual in groups of 2-3, that way you have room for them to fill out given the larger root mass (maybe top them once so they stay a little more bushy during stretch) and you don't want them jammed in too tight together, you will get less light penetration with the 400 than I am getting with the 600 even though you are @ a higher watts/sq foot than me. Another thing to remember is that with doing a perpetual, you will have tall plants, med plants and short plants, so your 400 is always going to be at the height of your tall plants causing the small ones to stretch. You're also watering to run off remember, so make sure your closet is lined and can drain run off freely (10 1.5 gallon pots will need ~ 1-1.5 litres of water a day each during mid to late flower esp with warmer temps and low RH) this will give you around 2+ liters of water a day flowing across your floor, so if you are not growing near a drain, you will have to remove them from your grow space and water them in a bucket/sink/etc to catch the run off. My cab is right next to the drain in my basement, so i just take them out, water and wait for the runoff to stop. Hope this helps, have a good one

hmmm some things to take in consideration good looks

maybe ur right on me fitting 10 in there i was judging that off of pot size lol not the plants cause i have 3 flowering right now and it takes up alot of space but they were LST's to have multi colas veged for 4-5 weeks. and im not to sure if i want to grow single colas but in the flip side i dont know if a 2 week LST veg and toping will make a difference. in a SOG set up i would just grow single colas and trim side branches so 10 might not b to far fetched

but the waterings is not an issue i have the plants sitting in a sterilite thats the same dimensions of the bloom side, and the pots sit on some brick blocks so they dont sit in water about 6 inches up. i use my water pump to empty the waste cause takin my plants out is not an option due to the smell

but thanks again super, its always good to get someone elses opinion on things
