No, I have not grown pure Skunk 1, only smoked a lot of it coming from the NL, then there was the Cheese hype, which is a common known fact to be a pheno of Skunk No 1, and I grew Cheese and Blue Cheese and did not like it very much, because of the side effects....as I said, there a million versions on the market and unless you got a clone from back in the day or seeds from Sam himself (i have f.ex. grown sleestack x skunk Haze handed to me by Sam the Skunkman himself) ,it is hard to compare to todays seed versions from different breeders...

Star pupil from mass medical its Feminized. I have No personal experience but this strain is bred for positive and psychedelic effects.

Cambodian child is also a mass medical strain remade by Colorado sativas. It has a male called indigo child in it. Indigo child is supposed to be very positive and psychedelic type with purple and pink colored buds. Indigo child came from a special pink bud star pupil clone that was back crossed to get the Indigo child bx males used to make the regular seed line of star pupil called Indigo pupil and hybrids like cambodian child and peaceful child

I'm not sure how I feel about it because usually euphoric weed just can't get me high enough, but again I have no personal experience with these genetics im just reading the descriptions that are available

Both Super Lemon Haze from GHS is great uplifting weed, but the newer batches seem to be more indica influenced than the pre 2010 batch I had. But also limonene heavy strains are usually uplifting in general

Wally's C5/Laos is very euphoric. But needs a good long cure to really shine. After a good sesh on the vape it kicks in very elegantly. For an encore it delivers right where it ended. With just a couple of puffs needed to 'kick start the train'. A cross I made of GHS SSHxWSS turned out stellar. Potent and euphoric... with that White Straw Skunk straw/tropical taste and fragrance baked in. Better than both as stand alone's. The SSH definitely seems dominant (morphologically). I'll know if I've hit the jackpot again in a month or three.

I think a lot of the breeding of these fine old equatorial's has favoured the euphoric over the trippy. Intentional or not. Very few that don't benefit from a decent longish cure however. I've just had too many instance's of this transformative magic to discount the value of a good cure. Patience really is a virtue... not just re flowering times either!

I think landrace sativas are what you should be looking for. African landraces are a bit quicker than the others (13-14 weeks).

i highlighted what i thought to be the important key words...

i'm gonna go out on a limb and speculate that there is a serotonin agonist in some weed that gives fx similar to xtc and lsd... i know i've had plenty that makes me feel that way, but now reading this, it cements my view that maybe one day we will find a trace terp or cannabinoid that when mixed with thc gives experiences typical of the classical psychedelics...

maybe it won't be the 5ht-2A receptor (the main one implicated in colorful psychedelic experiences from shrooms and lsd etc.), but i bet the compound(s) in question will hit a serotonin receptor that mediates at least part of the psychedelic experience, maybe a receptor that overlaps with xtc (either mdma or maybe mda, which i find to be a more colorful and psychedelic roll)...

some weed definitely feels like it hits that acid/ rolling euphoria as opposed to the wrapped in mama's womb type euphoria from, say, opioids and some other euphoric weed strains (like the chems, ime).

most recently, i documented my experince smoking grapefruit haze, which i suspect does a tiny bit of the acid thing... very similar to a light dose plus a small hit of a good clear sativa. mixed to become one of my favorite highs.

Was Afghaan 90 euphoric? Yes C99 was also on the similar lists I've found. If I recall correctly, the early cheese and blueberry varieties had a similar vibe. Would love to see more contributions to this thread.

Very strong feeling of warm cozy well being deprived of paranoia. Can become a bit couchlock though if you overindulge. But if you don't, it's awesome afghan weed.

Funny, 'cause Skunk # 1 or Cheese gives me only nervousness and slightly paranoia and no feel good high...I'd always prefer a lemony Haze over a Skunk, if looking for upliftment. Guess everybody is built different...

I feel the same. Almost like the heavier the skunk#1 influence, the more uneasy it makes me feel. The cannabis world is full of skunk#1 and it's descendants, but I'm a lot happier when it's influence is minimized.

And, CannaT, just to save you the effort of copy/pasting a skunk#1 description from somewhere to point out that I can't properly identify the weed I like to smoke...I read it when you did it to acehaze.

As far as the original question goes, I've really only had that a couple times in the last 10ish years. Some Trainwreck a friend grew and some Durban that a guy brought to a BBQ. I'm growing some sativas from Ace seeds this year and am hoping to finally duplicate those sativa induced laughing fits from the early 80s.
