Ethiopian after ~18 days of flowering. Three of them smell very similar - light, carroty, no filter needed. One smells strongly of lemon (but ONLY lemon, not like in the description of some breeders where you can only feel the lemon terpenes if you have a very big imagination haha). The last time I felt such expressive lemon terpenes was in Jarilla from Mexico. This lemon plant is also the fastest and has low stretchability (front right).

My favorite though is the tallest plant (left rear) doesn't have any purple accents on the stem and petioles like the other 3. Its color is yellow compared to the others:

I will probably revegetate all 4 of them.

Hi @Popey you don't plan to transplant them ? They would really appreciate it for flowering stage now stretching seems quite under control, the female in your second pic is showing macro nutrient deficiencies.

Looking really good @El Timbo your diligence with the light dep is working wonders :)

@dubi They have already been replanted from 200ml to 400ml :D

But seriously: don't worry, this is a seed grow only. Besides, I'm going away in mid-June and I have to move the plants outside because there will be no one to take care of them in the box. Outdoors they will return to the vegetative phase. After returning from my trip in July, I will take the clones and then they will grow in larger pots so that the plants will be larger and give a good harvest ;)

@dubi what nutrient is deficient in photo 2?

On Saturday 2 days ago I collected the first seeds. 2.5 months from sowing the seeds to collecting the seeds :D

Looks quite advanced for 8 weeks. Are you noticing faster flowering times when using light deprivation, compared to growing regularly? I have been chopping my keepers around a week early, and my friend made a similar comment to me.

It's hard for me to say because I use light deprivation most of the time - sometimes even when I don't need to. These had 8 weeks veg so they were already sexually mature or close to it when they went on 11/13.

@Popey I've enjoyed following your seed plants - to run them so small and fast is not something I considered before but I can see it could have a lot of advantages. About how many seeds did you get from this run? And did you make use of the flowers at all?

Hi @gedLang

I collected fewer seeds than I could have because I didn't wait for the female plants to fully bloom and have lots of flower stigmas to pollinate. I pollinated the female plants right after the first pistils appeared in early May because I don't have time because I'm going away for a few weeks next week, June 15th. The new flower pistils were still growing and right now the plants are not ripe to harvest for smoking weed. Seeds take 4 weeks to mature, smoking weed takes much longer to mature.

I collected about 150 seeds from 4 small female plants. If I pollinated a month later, I think I would have over 500 seeds. In a few days I'll take the plants out of the cups and put them in the garden to reveg. When I get back I'll take clones and start growing them for smoking weed.

Hi. I smoked the seed coats of Ethiopian yesterday. Of course it's not the same as smoking the buds. I felt a moderate stimulation. I felt that if I smoked twice as much I would feel negative effects: tachycarida, panic. I was hoping for a more cheerful high and creative. I will have to cross it with something like Congo, C'99 or Durban.

I've read someone on ICmag saying that they found a "cold" pheno of Ethiopian with speedy but non-euphoric effects and a "warm" pheno with more happiness and good vibes. Not sure if it was on this thread or elsewhere. But it may be worth smoking it plant-by-plant to see if there are phenos that you find more appealing.

It's not rare to find both cold, nervous effects and warm, energetic effects within the same ganja landrace sativa population unless it has been bred selectively for specific effects that combine different favorable traits sought by the breeder.

Consider that this THC-THCV rich type of African sativas is selected to boost energy under harsh African climates, improve hunting (especially among pygmies), and suppress appetite when there is no chance for a proper diet. This type of cannabis is also used in this part of the world in ceremonies by different religions and to enhance social gatherings.

Hi. I'm planning on doing this. I've only tested one plant (the tallest). I still have seed coats from 3 others to test.

This is what I’m going to do, looking for the lemon woody ones. I overwatered and stressed them all to early and they all hermed. But like a contained herm. Non of my orient so far or honduras that was next to them had no underdeveloped seeds or looks of anything. 🤷‍♂️

So I will dive the benifit of doubt and say it was enviroment and then find the one I like most and re do that one. All while having a bunch of fems seeds on accident of each one. 🤣🤣

A pic from a few weeks ago.
