Estimate how much I can veg my clones for a 2 rooms system

I'm going to have a room for flowering and a smaller room for moms and clonemaking, and I want to give my clones as much time I can to develop roots and veg a bit, but not so much to make them too big for the room.

So my question is, considering very broadly the average plant growth, how many weeks they may take from just cut to a 14" high 14" diameter plant?

The plants will be low stress trained in preparation to go in a scrog (screen height ~12") in the flower room, but I can't let them grow too much, so I was thinking of taking the cuts from the moms when the flower room is at 30 days left, so they have about a month to develop root and veg a bit, then they'll be moved to the other room, vegged until 50~70% of the screen is full and flipped to flower.

Data:
-The clones will stay in the incubator until the first roots are developed, then moved to a rainforest until further roots development and finally placed to a 24x16" dwc tank where they'll veg until moved to the flower room.
-Lighting in this room would be just 2x 125w CFL

That is going to matter on many things, how big are your cuts? Strong tops or 1" shoots? How fast does your mom grow and stretch?

I have a cherry pie that would take a couple weeks to do that. The flip side is I have a sour d or glue that will get that size in 5 to10 days even with tying topping or super cropping.

It will come down to trial and error. What strain do you have that would help render a guess.

...It will come down to trial and error.

Yes, this is the only truth, I'm aware of it, what I'm trying to get is a broad guideline if it's possible.

same as before, I'm aiming at getting the "average" timeframe and then refine it through trial and error.

So an average size cut (3 nodes ~4"), from an average plant.

I know it's a bit futile to consider the not realistic average conditions, but at least I'll have a track to follow.

It's been a bit since my last grow and I can't absolutely remember how fast the clones grew, I only remember they took about 2 weeks to develop decent roots.

I would say roughly two weeks from first transplant not knowing the strain.

If you top them after 2 to 3 sets of leaves that will lower their profile. I always find the sooner a plant is topped the more of a tumble weed shape it takes on. Watch out topping too early on pure Indica's though. Gdp didn't like it when I got it at three sets of leaves. The one I didn't top until a foot tall did much better and I didn't have to clean the middle out as much. My .02 anyhow.

I think month would be a good guess. :tiphat:

2 weeks to root + 2 weeks to veg = 4 weeks

You could be ready in 3 weeks.

Then again its always better to give yourself more time anyways.

thank you for your advises guys, if my setup remain like this I will do 1 month for the first try and then adjust

but there MAY be a chance I get a little more room to veg, not so much that I can place the plants under the final screens, but the space would be a bit more, so my updated question is:

if I have space in the veg room for the plants to reach 20-25" each in diameter, it would be profitable/feasible to take the cut even earlier and veg the plants more doing a lot of LST, cutting etc to train them for the screens or this way I would end with the inability to scrog them correctly?

for this run I'll be popping almost 50/50 hybrids, white widow that is 60% indica, Jack Herer that is 55% sativa maybe Purple Orange CBD that is 60% sativa

But in the next run there will be different strains, this is way I was seeking for average numbers and factors.

I've seen people that grow trees without screen just by topping and training and then literally smash open the main stalk so the plant "is widened" and then put it under a screen.
I don't like this technique because it's too risky and stressful for the plant, but I wonder if is manageable to veg the plant more keeping it wide and low and only then placing the screen, making the most of the time and space you have.

Maybe I should just veg the plant to 12-14" height and move it to the flower room with the screen and stop there even if I have a little more space.
