i use envirolites for veg they are quite good, they dont get hot so good for small cabs i have a twin 125w and a single 125w they take off quite well with the twin light...iv seen some plants flowered under the red ones too and u can get quite good results but i prefer the hps for flower...

I bought and used the 125w envirolight and I think its a ripoff.reason is the price plus the high temps. Your best bet is a small HID or use regular flouros judst use more of them. Dubpheind had a good flouro setup. Dont have a link but do a search and take notes!

Well I don't have the 125w envirolights..but I do have 85 watter cfls which are pretty much the same size and they keep very cool..each of them only cost me 11 each..not bad i would say..yeah use a hps for flowering tho..good luck..they keep cool, cost cheap for me..and dont require the ballast etc like hid needs..

125w

125w

I use a 125w for seedlings/clones before switching to 175MH for final vegging. I prefer this for its low heat. If you note my vegging setup it looks like a refrig box...actually I am using a large piece of cardboard for the front, but the dimensions are small, so I am concerned about heat, which, frankly, this puts out very little. My cost for bulb was $75.00 a year or so ago, but worth it. I believe you get xcellent leaf foliage when used. Closeness. I'm not "an xpert", but I do like the results, which is what's important.
If you can afford this setup and have the room....go for it. We're always redesigning as we go along...so who knows how this will improve your yield.
Success w/ya grow.
Stay safe.

Don't know about that brand specifically, but I have used CFLs (Compact Flourescent Lamps) for veg and flower, and if you have enough watts placed correctly, they will do the job.

A lot of people will yell and scream that HID lamps are MUCH better for flowering. Well, those people are right. I use a 400-watt HPS in my flower cab now, and it kicks ass.

But for veg, the CFLs are perfectly acceptable. And much, much cooler. That's really why I like them. My first cab, that I still use for veg, is just too small for anything hotter. I don't know that you need to get the fancy high priced grow lamps, though. You can get 42 or 85 watt compact flourescents in a lot of places now, in a 2 or 3 different color temps, and I think they probably work about as well as the real expensive ones.

Of course, you'll need two to three times as many bulbs to match the wattage. So it might not end up being much cheaper. In my case, I found that the 42-watt lamps were cheap enough that three of them were still cheaper than a single 125 watter. And even more important, I could buy them right down the street. Buying grow equipment through the mail gives me the willies.
