does anyone know where I can find empty ballast boxes that are vented so I can mount my ballast?

or any kind of vented metal box useable for mounting a 400 watt ballast

try to find a war surplus and buy an old "ammo box". Drill lots of holes and you have a ballast box.

^^^^Thats waht I used.

A 50 cal. ammo can. Drilled a lot of holes and installed a Radio Shack 120v case fan. Works beatifully.

Get a Junction Box (aka pullbox) from homedepots or lowes electrical section. They have punchout holes on the side for easy ventilation, and you can place clamp connectors for safe cord mounting.
