Similar style, yet Atmosphere seems much more grounded and is better with wordplay. I always figured Eminem was a one-trick pony: all his songs sounded too similar with the wife-beating/torture scenarios.
Also, his backing music was awful. All of those farty-sounding synths just weren't doing it for me...

All his shit sounds the same fake as hell with yea like little fart sounds and shit... sorry but I'm over the age of 15. It's all about the money guys, most his songs are mindless blabbering bullshit surrounded but a bunch of computer sounds. Funny how he is all gangster but really a five foot scrawny male that grew up in middle class, my relatives live where he was brought up in Mich and trust me its not anything like he sings about
But I do have to give them the gangster thing with guns and bitches being something very original...along with his other subjects of violence don't hear about those subjects too much these days...
Any song that isn't about that take out the bad language and you have something to play at a kinds b-day party....they like all those cool noises and such....

I guess the definition of talent has changed that much over the past two decades or three. Now is the era to have kids save for years for a studio computer with all the effects...instead of spending those years actually learning an instrument.

beastie boys were fun, but they sounded like white boys doing something that was not for or from them.(though they got a couple cool tunes.) and sorry third base, but while you get the "old school" respect, you looked even sillier doing your thing.
then dre and snoop came out with rap that even white metal heads like myself couldnt resist.
my point-eminem wrote and rapped songs that sounded RIGHT coming from a white perspective. best thing ever happened to him was living in a trailer near a ghetto! the only reason i gave him a listen was the gay population(a segment thereof anyway) was making such a stink over him, i had to see what they were talking about. and i liked his music.

here is my story on how i got to eminem.
i grew up on punk and hardcore, and i would have NEVER listened to rap....or metal...or anyhting not hardcore......i did like anthrax tho.
i went to alaska and working on a halibut boat w/ 3 guys that pounded eminem all day long.
it took me over 3 weeks to even hear him....tho it was poundded...and i mean pounded thru speakers that would make most clubs jealous.
...i didnt even hear a word of his for weeks.
if u dont like eminem u dont understand him, and u dont listen.
