Nah, thats what the electrical company does in the summer when too many people have A/C's running and the load on the grid gets to be too much. They do it to prevent a blackout from electrical grid overload.

Just an update...Repairs are done and I have power back.

Unfortunately the electronics on the oven and the dishwasher are fried. That is actually what I smelled burning the night of the storm because when power was returned I smelled the same smell again. Since I cant identify which circuit those things are on I have power to that part of the house shut down until a technician can come out.
