we have overhead service which would make it visible to anyone who took a good look.

I have heard of the electric company tracking useage but never have heard exactly how. And thats what I keep getting asked, how are they going to know its our spot stealing the electric?

Do they have meters at the tranformers?

Man if by fudging you mean stealing I can't decide which is stupider.The theft or the fact you'd tell us.I wont help an electricity thief man and I hope most feel the same way.I know CF does so that means you've lost two good electricians.If I misunderstood I apologise but it seems pretty clear.By the way I'd go way further than frown upon it if possible.

I'm with you on this. A thief is a thief is a thief. If they'd steal from the PowCo, they'd steal from you or me too.

And it seems pretty clear that u're saying u'd rat. So which is worse the person who is just going the extra step to conceal the op (everyone here tries as hard as possible to conceal their op) or the person who'd rat on the op?

Theft is not part of 'concealing' an op.

If that's your only option, look elsewhere for your 'Op'.

Theft is anti-thesis to cannabis culture. And, in my experience, has consequences that will always come round. They just don't always land on your doorstep where it's 'plainly visible' that your theft was a direct cause, some just ruin your life in other ways.

This is something we've done plenty of times. We've done it with overhead service but I was extremely uncomfortable with it and not worth it in my opion. It is way too visable. I only feel comfortable doing it if the feed comes underground. I know of ops that have been running 28k for over 3 years with no issues. The only reason they will put a meter up close to the transformer is if someone rats on you and they need to use electric theft for a warrant. Don't tell a soul and you'll never have to worry about them finding it. I ran 24k for over 18 moBnths no issues this way.

And by the way the grow house erradication act has more to do with the voilence associated with all the damn grow rips going on. People are getting tortured and killed during these home invasions and that my friend is what all the fuss is about. Btw grow big ass trees and the 24 plant count will be WAY more than enough. Last run 24 trees 24k 30+ #'s.

Apparently you don't watch the news much. There are plenty of home invasion robberies at grow houses in Florida. Google Lakeland, Florida grow house bust. I know the victims. I myself had to take down an op quick, fast and in a HUGE hurry due to a home invasion attempt (reinforced doors with Door Jamb Amor are the shit!).

Btw that comment about someone stealing my brain is just plain childish and uncalled for. Let's face it folks arguing on the internet is retarded so let's just not do it as it's a huge waste of time.

Stealing the electric has kept the bill WAY down and under the radar. Jumper you stated you're only running 5k and truth be told if I was only running 5k I'd pay the bill as it honestly wouldn't be that bad. I'm assuming around $350-$500 which is explainable. I myself used to run an internet buisness and at one point was using more than 5k just in servers at a residential location. However for those of us running 20+ lights there is no way we can pay that bill and pretend that nothing is going on. Stealing the power has worked for me and not given me any issues in years.

I've stated my opinion and recieved the information I needed. To those who gave the information again I say thank you. Including you Jumper. I'm done with this thread and moving on. Have at it boys and girls.

Right now its not that easy for them to figure out where power is being stolen but if your in Southern Cali I would stop. I was talking with a friend who works at S D G E and one of there 4 major goals of 2009 is Smart Meters on all residences.
