Got any pics of your cut in flowering? Not always a guarantee to ID from pics but it does help.

It's a bit of a catch-22 in that the most definitive traits are smell, taste and buzz. But you don't know what that's like until you've had it. Some IBLs have come close in one area or another but few seem to have the high marks across the board to compare to the cut.

The Sour Diesel IBL line seems pretty hit or miss. I hope going forward people learn from Rez and Swerve's missteps in regards to bringing clone only varieties to market under the same name without putting in the work to reliably reproduce the clone only expression in an attempt to cash in on the name. Show me one example where this has helped moving things in a positive direction for anyone but the seed seller. Instead, we get 1000s of cuts with the same name that aren't the same at all. Selling out a well known variety to satisfy the teenyboppers demands to be able to say they have "(insert fancy clone name)" in their garden is the work of a hack.

I don't have any pictures clear enough for an ID, but I have 6 in veg that I will put into flower in the next couple of weeks. I will post pictures when they flower in the hope that someone can positively ID. Appreciate the feedback!

Sour Diesel in general always looks different from grower to grower, more so then any other strain I have ever seen.

I attribute some of this to many people not having the authentic cut and having some some variation of Rez's versions.

But it does seem to look way different depending how and how well it was grown. Many people out there can't grow it to its fullest potential either ECSD or Sour D.

Chaco was a pro at growing sour D, cabron yours looks great aswell. Super chunky, epic buds.

Have been lucky enough to grow this cut for around 7 years and this is the absolute truth. When you acquire the real cut and get her right though, you will KNOW. Ooooooohhhhh that smell.....

THAT SMELL.....how do you describe it to somebody that has never
had the sticky tart, goo on their arms after waltzing through a room full of this gal ..

The taste in their mouth ,,,and the odor that makes your mouth salivate ..

well thats the Sour D ,,,not a plant out there that has this ..

I guess I find myself comparing her to days in my youth as I walked home at nite from a fuk session with the hot lil gal down the road weekly ...

you have her sweet scent dried all over your fingers ,face ,in your nose ,,,and ya can't quit bringing those fingers to your nose

she's right there with ya every step of the way home .....

That's what this plant reminds me of ... it's that good...

This is a pic of my momma ,,,not an S1 ....

Seems to have trouble supporting her own weight. Propping floppy sours I guess...

Personally I don't mind the smell, but I'm not sure that this is one that I would grow in a non med state due to the liability that this creates.

And ozone generators and odor masking gels and sprays...east coast sour diesel...not much medical laws going into effect when this one came out and people started growing it. Smell is always controllable....There are no parameters indoor in which you the grower can't control. It just depends on how deep your pockets are...

ECSD is so oily that her odor clings to absolutely everything. Roll a joint of proper ecsd and you might as well accept you are going to smell like her all day...not to mention working with ripening or fully ripe plants of her. After working with a room full of it you can take a shower and scrub until your skin bleeds but you will just smell like soapy fresh ECSD instead of full on reek diesel. Either one is funky and can be a security concern when venturing out into public I suppose. Full rooms of her are definitely reek.

Love this girl so much. Thank you to the kind soul who gifted me this plant so many years ago.

So it isn't always just about controlling the odor from the room but also being aware of anytime you come near fresh buds or plants of ECSD that you absolutely reek.
