I’ve listened to a lot of the cannabis shows on sour and the story AJ told was anything really strong in NYC at the time was called Diesel. It wasn’t just weed either it referred to anything strong. They might pass a hug pit bull on the street and be like, “that pitty is diesel”

Sour Diesel definitely has a fuel flavor but that’s not where the Diesel in the name comes from apparently. Anything awesome got the honorific title “diesel”.

Then there’s the story on how the name Sour Diesel came to be. The upstate NY guys who got the seeded bud from Mike Klopp had the seeds in a little container and they put the label “Our Diesel” and apparently someone in that crew saw that and got pissed off and possessive and said, “you can’t call those ours!” Someone then added the S to the label because the plant caused so much drama and greed and relationships went “sour”.

Or so the folklore goes, lol.

When do you guys start to cut your nutes back on these? I am at 50 days and most of the hairs have turned light pink but I am not getting any elongation in the budding tips. I'm in coco/led.

@led05 some of those fatter fans look the part. You said this was your s1 correct?
Yes, I pulled out an elbow Xmas time 2000/01 in central NY from what at the time was called Sour D or more often just Sour…. one seed in the pound, these guys wouldn’t share cuts and scoured their flowers to make sure no late seeds formed, but as we all know sometimes they do and them buggers can hide…. I took that seed & grew it out & selfed it @7 years later when I had the space & time to do so proper as I had been living in a condo downtown in one of this countries largest cities and it simply wasn’t possible…

The plants I picture previously all came from that original selfing but clearly have some diversity as is often the case…

Peace & thx for the Q

Probably all ready selfed when you found it then. The round fatter leaves definitely remind me of her. Have lots of fam in that neck of the woods. Lived out east for years, mostly Maine. But she definitely made her rounds.

That’s a given; these guys growing & selling it weren’t chuckers (very few were back then); they were drug dealers with a few decent growers across the state in their “group” as I recall it…

Ultimately; stories are just that & plants always / should be the only ones doing the talking in the end

some these herm late at end; the random ones that Fasciate seem to earlier in flowering - I dislike fasciation in cannabis across the board - fasciation should be saved for things like cockscombs and such, not cannabis

Peace

I gonna try and figure something out with this one early. She got over vegged and grew up to the light. Deffo needs support.
I'd slowly and carefully begin tying the tops back to the container and lower them over the course of a week. I have been removing alot of fans with these tents too. This lady is a stinker thats for sure but I can't wait gonna be some awesome stash.

the photos I will post are from the last 2 cycles.I always hit her at height, the space I left for her was 80 cm x 80 cm with a height of 1.80 cm Cultivation with organic soil in 18L pots I usually vegar 1 month and a half

I feel like genetic drift hit these lines harder than most strains around in clone only form. It would also seem like they behave very different from grow to grow and even then faded. Even ones that stank up the whole neighbourhood seemed to loose the fuel in curing. The early sour d clones were so special, it tickled the nose through the bag!. Are there any seed form crosses around that come close to those early cuts?

This ECSD cut from the pic I posted isnt the most vigorous but it does seem healthy otherwise and so far the smell is kicking total ass. I have another cut that is not as well circulated which is much more vigorous and heavy yeild so far. The cuttings from that one are so vigorous they got rootbound on me in a matter of days from aerocloner to solo cup. Smells maybe close and other than vigor and yeild they exhibit the same morphology.

JayP Sour got a bit close to the led so the upper tops are a bit round. Lower tops you can't tell the difference from the ECSD. I got more pics for later this week.

I got an Albany cut too that just got flipped as well. That one was giving me hell to root but got er nice and healthy. No more fucking around with vegging under shittay LED's. Back to the HPS for veg it is might have saved the day. I suppose the albany one is more of an original Sour D vs the ECSD but its all good to me.

It is good to know that you are on the mission to find the proper sour man. Knowing your work with hunting down Cindy I am sure you will find her!. I have heard the piff coast crew has locked down some loud ECSD in seed form. I would imagine it would be hard to pass that off out east unless it was real deal.
