LOL, i love the taste of this stuff, and i've been out for a couple months now, she jus never lasts long enough..

This is my 2nd plant/run with her, another old mum (check the stem), flowered in a 8" shallow, or aprox 1 gallon pot.

She's at 74 days today, and has 14 main tops, and a couple branches on the down low.

Grown in verticle light, 1K HPS, and the closest/phattest cola got a bit of light bleaching, but nothing detrimential to the end product..

Good ol' ECSD at 74 days 12/12:

80-85 on her at least.. we'll see.. the front colas mature a lil faster so I may take some at 80 leave the rest to 85.

But I did take a small cola for my bro's B-day coming up, that's why i had her out for pics.. It's his favorite smoke I couldn't refuse..

thanks folks..

wassup HE, I jus run in Sunshine Mix #4, straight out the bag (no extra perlite, lime, or ammendments), with 3 part GH or AN on every watering ('cept last 14-15 days of plain water), PHed to 5.8-6.3...

I use tap water straight out the tap, lucky to start with a ppm consitantly under 15, and i've seen no dif in letting the chlorine evap..

I use all 3 parts in veg, varying recipes for dif plants.. And run something close to lucas formula in flower, 'cept I use a lil of the grow in the 1st 1-2 weeks depending on the look of the plant..

It's very basic, but it's taken me about a yr to 'master' it.. And new strains can sometimes be a challenge.

I may be switching to PBP soon, jus doing some side by sides with the 3 part vs PBP and DWC Bubba clones as we speak to see how i like it before i switch over completely..

I know organics have the edge for flavor, but a properly fed, properly flushed chem grow can be much better than a poor or average organic grow from my experience so far..

Hey jaws, thanks for the compliments.. I've been having pretty cool temps lately, particularly about a month ago, where it dropped to 45 F lights-on one day.. And it's been under 60 since, sometimes getting to 65.. And I've noticed stuff taking about 5-7 days longer.. So I'd say in warm/normal conditions yer plant will probly look like this at 65-70 days.. Even faster in hydro..

All I know is this plant is worth every day in my garden

yes, I've heard that many times before GBS..

I used to grow in much larger pots, same exact medium/lightng/nutes... and I only noticed maybe a 10-20% yeild increase MAX.. for all the extra soil, time, weight (i move/shift my plants constantly) I found it just wasn't worth it for me in the end..

You won't find me doing anything on a whim, if I'm growing a certain way, it's because I have tried all the alternatives, and found what works best for me.. which is most important imho..

There's also many other reasons, i find a plant with a full pot of roots going into flower flowers faster/more consistanly, and lessens stretch, which works best in my particular grow. Also the soil dries out faster, allowing me to make adjustments faster, and feed more, without overfeeding.. If there's a problem with the plant, it only takes days for the pot to dry out, so u can start fixing the problem.. In bigger pots and my cold and humid climate, large pots take forever to dry out, and can be a nightmare when trying to get a plant to recover quickly..

Believe me bro, I didn't miss the FAQs on all these sites, I know all the 'proper' pot sizes, and i've tried em.. I'm happy where I am, but thanks for your concern

peace

Hello BC, That's an awesome ECSD plant. May I ask is that the clone or the Ibl? I've never seen such a big yeild from the clone. Also I've noticed that the Ibl is turning purple more so that the clone late in flower. I have the Ibl at 70 days. I'll let them go to 77-80. I also got some Ecsd clones 10 days in along side my best smelling Ibl. Interesting things are happining.

Ibl day 70.

hey smokey.. I'm 99.99% sure it's the real deal, ECSD.. if I had anymore doubt than that I would be sure to say..

She seems to change alot in dif enviros, as my 1st plant, run in summer, was much different looking.. Much more of the dark green/white bud contrast.. looking more typically ECSD..

Here's some pics.. I had lost track of flower time on this girl, and i think she's probly at about 50 days, altho the pics are labeled 45..

And to think smokey, if I used bigger pots she woulda yeilded 50% more! :p jus playin' GBS :sasmokin:

The only reason I asked is that I've never seen the original clone yeild so much, the backcrosses yes because the NycDiesel fattened them up a lot. Now I have a big target to shoot for. If only I can get the clone to yeild like yours. Thanks again.

thanks bbk..

No worries smokey, no offense taken.. in fact, I was 100% sure until this grow, cause she realy looks dif on this run.. so I feel where you're comming from, completely.

worst part is, I have no idea what made the difference! lol Altho the 1st plant i flowered was much worse off in late veg/early flower... But this mum was no spring chicken entering flower, that's for sure..

IMHO, and with limited ECSD growing experience I think u have to really agressively top her to get her to put out lots of phat colas.. One thing that's nice about ECSD is that she almost grows right thru any topping or super cropping..

And there's no way in hell i woulda been able to run this girl without supports without all the supercropping i did.. it sure makes it alot more maintainance free when dealing with this many tops, and she doesn't slow down too much from it in veg/early flower.

I'm sure you'll tune her in well.. she's definately not a no brainer plant, and it took me a while to get her comfortable in her surroundings here.

thanks NorCal, Rez, and Lucid

NorCal, I'm jus as suprised as everyone else with how well she did, and can only hope she gets betta and betta.. I got a similar plant vegging up now, so we'll see in a few months whether I can get her to do even betta.. :chin:

Lucid, if u get a nice IBL pheno then she's definately worth the weight.. I'm always so suprised when people take her (real ECSD) before 70, she never looks no where near done by then in my garden..

I think she should be left to 75 days minimum in soil/soiless, with 80-85 being where she really shows her stuff, and the true intensity of the high comes out. :joint:
