I did this a few times back in NY, Halloween afternoon, go to the grocery checkout counter with a bag of apples and a couple of packs of razor blades, the looks were priceless.......

That warm here at the Mo,[October!!!]. I heard 'em talkin on the TV that this might be the first Halloween n bonfire night in History..where folk will be in T-shirts!

Many years ago ...

There was always a Big Bonfire and a 50 foot greased pole with a $20 on the top.

Here in SoCal it seemed like most of the parks had these activities after the little kiddies got their candy and were in bed.

Then the teenagers took over the park. I think it kept the random Holigan activities down.

Oh the memories of my youth

I saw a news report warning about Ebola infused candies that look just like regular candies that some nefarious charechters might be handing out. O wait might have been about pot candy....

Getting to the top was tough. But there was always a lot of young studs inching thier way up the pole until someone reached the top.

I never reached the top. Crisco on a six inch pole was too much for me.

I saw people trying to reach by climbing on top of each other's shoulders, but the only way to reach the $20, was to make it on your own.

I don't think they do it any longer as it is not PC and might be a liability to the city.
