Ebay?

I am considering a reflector and ballast on Ebay. I'm just not to sure about having them delivered to my house. Anyone have any experience with this, do you think its safe? What do you think of ordering grow room equipment online?

I am sure this has been asked many times, but I couldnt find any threads.

Lots of folks buy stuff threre. Just know eBay will always help leo in anyway they can if they are asked.

yeah i find that most of the equipment on ebay is crap. i have ordered a few things and was not happy with any of it. if you are low on cash i guess the stuff will get you through til you can get better stuff. i got a grow tent that was full of light leaks and a hood and ballast that went up in flames. if i had not been home could have took the whole house.

I just bought a case of hortilux bulbs for $400 shipped. about $67 ea/ their here 2 days later and new in packing as advertised. look at the sellers feedback, and see if he's a preferred seller. ask for the deal on a "make offer" deal..

The stuff I'm looking @ is quality. Same stuff I could get @ worms way, its just a lot cheaper.

Safety?

I owned a Hydro retail shop and did a ton of business online. many customers were AN forum members and now couchlockers. Nobody got in any trouble. over 1000 customers and no problems. sure things broke in shipping, and their were warranty issues, but no cusomer was ever questioned or busted from what I know.

a lotta the time, you're just essentially buying from a store, thru ebay.

whether that store is 'trustworthy' (doesn't package your shit with a 'fragile: this guy needs this to grow pot' sticker on it, is actually selling what they say they are, etc), a google search can shed some light (above and beyond their ebay ratings)

this should be in the realm of the obvious, but if you have any intention of anybody you know ever, for any reason seeing your ebay account (posting a link to somebody you know of an auction you're running, etc. whatever)....don't use this account. make up a new one. hydrogrowgrowsuperplants leaving you a glowing feedback doesn't go away soon. there are private auctions where this isn't an issue, but most hydro shit isn't.

(i tread lightly on online ordering to a grow address and from my name/bank accounts/credit cards...as i've kinda been involved to some extent in the evil that is data mining, your level of paranoia has to make that call for you. i'm lucky enough to have the right kind of safe addresses/contacts so i don't push it.)

ebay is a great place to buy just about anything you want, a few clicks of the mouse and a day or so later what you need is at your door, i have no complaints. well maybe i do, like GDTRFB says...... they leave feedback for you.... which shows what item you bought and who from, so "600W HPS GROWLIGHT from seller HYDROPONICS_SUPPLIES" appears on your feedback for 90days lol

I think it'd be safe to order from ebay. I'd have no reservations. Finding a good deal, on the other hand, might be a little more difficult.

If your gonna bay a lot it might be best to use a safe addy account. It's easy and can be paid for with a cash card from wally world.

very safe. I have had grow related stuff coming delivered to my grow op at least once a month, but sometimes I go on buying sprees. spent close to $1k in the past few days on various upgrades.

Nothing illegal about ordering light bulbs. How do you expect to handle the paranoia of actually growing?

If you are looking for a traditional ballast (non digital) 1000bulbs.com is the place,reasonable shipping and really good prices.But you do have to wire it yourself.

I looked at 1000 bulbs. they wanted $75ea. shipped. I payed $66.66 a bulb. just FYI. $75 is a good deal, no doubt. look hard enough ebay and save even more.
