............as October begins so does the rain....:(

thunderstorms today, heading out to check plants today to look for mold, cat damage, and check for readyness with scope (most look a week or more out, trainwreck and fire og being the first done)

I look at a day of rain this time of year as a good thing. It rinses everything off and tends to firm up the buds. A week of rain, not so much...

i concur for the most part, i like one good rain storm before the harvest, like you mentioned it washes all the dust and crap off, 3 or more days or warm humid rain is asking for trouble, i already had to chop off a large banana kush nug because it rotted from the inside out, so immediate sign of cat damage being the catalyst but i wasnt looking too hard :p, bagged it, shopped it, and tossed it (dont want spores spreading)

i have another 5 or so plants im going to put out to flower as i harvest these next few, all 5 are quick flowering verietys and should HOPEFULLY be done by dec 1st-ish when the avg temp is still around night time 45+, or i will make a hoop house encloseure to keep rain off or bring them inside in a tent to finish...

itll be
1 trainwreck
1 xj13
1 fire og
1 Chernobyl
1 key lime pie
and i got another cookie frost and fire og i could throw out if wanted...

...also got a nice selection of small plants in 1 gals for a winter indoor tent run, prob. 2 tents, one 5x5 and one 6.5x6.5, have 10 or so of each, fire og, tahoe og, forum and platinum cookies and a few stragglers like black lime reserve, sherbert, gg4 and others... should be fun :)

Garden shot

cookie frost, this strain is the clear favorite for me in the garden, came out of nowhere, a freebie from harborside clone desk ends up being the most AWESOME cookie pheno ive seen (and ive ran platinum gsc and forum gsc also)

Nice buds! They puff as good as their indoor versions?

hard to say since ive only smoked the trainwreck and fire og, fire og definately doesnt loook as good as done indoor, more airy, ill post dry nugs shots soon

the trainwreck looks exactly like it does when done indoor, same smell and taste on both strains so far, loud organic goodness :)

so far ive gotten comments from people i respect such as "best outdoor ive seen", "you should sell it as indoor", ect.. all things that were really my goals when i started, grow outdoor that looks like indoor...

thinking about dipping into the pimp game....

i got 3 sexually mature Inferno OG seed plants and am thinking about letting em get down and dirty with a XJ-13, Chernobyl, and Arcata Trainwreck (lol im calling this cross CalFire) as well as making some Inferno OG f2s...

the XJ-13,Chernobyl, and Trainwreck are about 10 days into flower, if i bring the 3 Inferno OG plants over tomorrow, the males should start shooting pollen in ~3 weeks or so (enough time to get my last of my Bubbas and smalls out of the garden)

..these plants are all really just extra stock i have floating around, Xj-13, Chernobyl and Trainwreck are all moms tha i flowered out since im letting the strains go, figured they should be done around December 15th (we dont get any hard frosts here, only a few mild ones) so idc about yield if i got some seeds and made some crosses id be more than happy...

anyone see any problems with timing or anything? I dont see why it wouldnt work out... little late season breeding project...

and as far as harvest goes, i finished up the Plat GSC, Forum GSC, and Jesus OG.. GSC is by far the easiest strain to trim ive ever seen lol, i jjust blow through this shit, and for a one man operation (atleast i trry to) this is important, trimming sucks...

looking forward to getting all this rapped up and move onto the next project, which is starting to get overgrown and needs more of my attention atm, but need to finish hartvesting asap before rain comes this Wendsday, still have the Cookie frost, Tahoe OG, and x2 Bubbas out.. the frost and tahoe will be harvested before the rain, but the bubbas got another couple weeks it looks like.. gonna hit em with a fine foliar mist of AACT to discourage mold

and here's an update on a little late season seed run i got going, trainwreck, xj13, and Chernoybly are all bout 10 days in flower, i put out the 3 un-sexed inferno og seed plants now and will wait for them to show and drop pollen (if need be ill finish em indoors)

3 inferno og seed plants (hopefully atleast one male)

Trainwreck and Xj13 budshots

This is my first seed run so im excited to try it out...

and here's a shot of the harvested garden so far, only littles and 2 bubbas are left now... bubbas got another week atleast....

Confirmed 2 males and a female on the Inferno og seed plants... waiting for pollen now (should be a couple weeks)... that will be awesome if successful.. hopefully El nino wont bite me in the ass... even if it does ill take em inside to finish..

...will be finishing this thread up soon and starting a new indoor thread for the winter (ill link later), i have about 10 each of TAHOE OG, FIRE OG, PLAT. GSC, Forum GSC and a few sherbert, black lime reserve, and GG4, all about 2 ft. tall and needing to be transplanted into larger containers ASAP, i want to flower em out ASAP but still ALOT needs to be done.... should be interesting, atleast two 5x5 tents and im sure a few more rooms somewhere down the line, I'll show how i do it with minimal $ but ALOT of LOVE...

Harvest is going well and everything is finishing drying, being moved to an offsite location for storage, finishing trimming the smalls, and then i still have 2 BUBBA KUSH plants in the ground... so far i have over 6 units with my 3 biggest plants to weigh...

some so far...

Trainwreck ended up being 242.6 grams, almost a half p..

Jesus OG went 350 grams so far and i still have alot of smalls to pick...

Platinum GSC went 290 grams

Forum GSC went 550 grams...

and the banana kush went 360, but tha one lost about 30% from budrot, prob. the worst strain in the garden, and has already been culled, i dont recommend it...

and i got about 2 pounds from 3 FIRE og plants, all plants were in 45 gal smartpots buried 2/3 the way in the ground in late June-early July... looks like ill end up with around 9-10units total... not bad for a last minute thrown together project... first time outdoor grow... :)

DRY NUG SHOTS COMING SOON!!!

Thanks for the kind words, its really appreciated... really debating whether or not to devote more of my time to growing, i work a full time job and im already busy from the moment i wake till sleep... once everything is done it will be good to have a break...

..little update from today...

I took some final cuts on the cookie frost and platinum cookies, these littles if left on the plant for a week or so will fatten up nicely...

should be a little bumper harvest of smalls for hash, will be busy this winter, with indoor grows, hash, poping seeds, and all the rest...

i will need to update the total yields for a few plants because the smalls will add up to something significant once dried i bet (some plants had a qp or so)

Harvest is definitely better than expected, if you count a couple ps of littles it looks like i will have hit a 1 pound per plant average, i was hoping for half p average :)

today is the first good rain of the year (~.5'') and i still have 2 Bubba Kush plants in the ground, they will need another week but there's not much i can do now, fed em with a lil AACT and pray

Bubba kush pre-harvest 11/7

Bubba kush pre-harvest 11/7

Finally decided to take the two remaining Bubba Kush plants in the garden today, had rain coming in the next 24-48hours so i wanted to pick all the chunky tops so mold doesnt start to rear its ugly head..
