East Coast MIDGRADE SMOKE REPORT

Round my parts in the midwest I haven't really met any dealers who know what strain they're selling. Not that I've met many, I'm sure some do but it seems as a general rule they don't know what it is. And you don't really ask where it came from, cause in general you don't want to ask too many questions in such transactions other than price, quantity and quality. Here it's generally 20-30 an eighth for commersh - compressed dark green weed that's pretty harsh but packs a good high if you smoke a couple bowls of it. Schwag or blunt weed is 50 a half and is like a browner, seedier, stemier commersh.
And sixty an eighth stuff is, I guess depending on who you talk to, 'dro' or 'beasters' or 'kind' - that's usually the top quality commonly available - nice green nugs with amber hairs, cured (maybe even too dry sometimes), uncompressed or very little compressed, good smell but not something that will stink up your whole house, and pretty good potency - a good bong rip will get me high, 2-3 will get me blazed but then again I don't have high tolerance. I have a hippie friend who can smoke 2-3 bongs by himself easy while I've long since quit. Sure he gets blazed too but that much would have made me pass out.
The 60 an eighth stuff is sensi - hardly ever find seeds, maybe one in an eighth every 2-3 bags. So it was homegrown, or if an outdoor grow it was well maintained. It's probably a name strain but your dealer would never know it, but it could even be commersh seed that was professionally grown indoors.
I don't know if I've ever had super potent homegrown stuff. I remember once, when I first started smoking, a friend bought an eighth of kind for $80 (I know, it's a ripoff). We were saying this stuff was worth more than gold, literally. But it was super spongy and didn't look like any weed I had seen (although I was still only smoking mersh back then, so I probably didn't even know what a calyx looked like it was so compressed). He was tearing bits off a nug and I took two small hits out of a glass bowl. I was FLYING. I lay dazed on a couch for a couple hours before finally stumbling to my car and driving home in a haze (definitely impaired, thankfully didn't live too far away).
Now I wonder if the effect was mostly because I didn't have much tolerance back then, or was the weed really that good. I'm thinking it's a little of both.
I think a good strain plus excellent technique can produce homegrown weed that would be equal to that 80 an eighth stuff I had. Which is why we're all here....

I couldn't find "mid grade" (aka schwag, you guys realize the big distributors charge the same for the dirt and the light green right? :tiphat: ) if I tried now, but I really oughta start trying. I miss good Mexican herb and my HOG stash is running mighty low.

I don't have a smoke report, but I got 10.5g of that for $100, and it was well worth it. That'd fall into the mids category around here, which, if I have to pay for buds, is what I go for.

that looks like GDP or what we in cali call the "hardball"...its pretty common..mostly Granddaddy Purple clones that are grown with lots of nutes and become super dense. if its not frosty its what east coast people call beasters, if its frosty it can pass for high grade sometimes...

what the OP posted looks what we would called BRICKPACK here in cali...its not mexican, but canadian brick so maybe its better. but still something i would hate the smoke.

i would rather pay the money and buy good weed. id much rather have a really nice zone for 300 than a zone of mediocre for 100. if i lived on the east coast and didnt pay ridiculous california rent id easily pay 400 an OZ for some of that real deal holyfield...
