I like your style dude..

Have a sec to shed light on your V+B usage? I just started running the hard water formula in coco. Which formula are you running? Do you know what EC/ppm? any supplements?

I've been running mine pretty mild with no problems other than having to supplement some cal mag.. but I'm not sure I even understand how the hard water formula is formulated. My tap comes out 450 ppm.. and I use about half recommended strength V+B.. about 4 tsp or so per 10 gal rez - I get to around ~750ppm/1.3 EC.. A lot of what I read doesn't recommend much stronger solution. Seems light with only about 300ppm of nutrient in the mix. But again.. maybe I'm just not understanding how the hard water formula works.

Just curious how your using it..

I definately dont mind sharing, but these were actually my first pull with V+B, and everything since is doing much better than what you've seen so far, so im definitely still figuring it out. Theres a good thread for V+B users and those guys all have ideas. Im really a soil guy, just playing around with coco for the winter. Im running 600 ppm in veg and about 800 in flower, straight up, no additives. Im using the HD formula, and my tap is under 40 ppm so im wicked lucky there, much more experienced folks have recommended I just use the RO formula in the future. Im sure if you got your water straightened out youll probably fine. Id thunk youd have tons of calcium in your mix already from the water being like it is. Theres definitely parallels with soil and hydro in that most problems, just my opinion, are from feeding way more junk than is needed to try to make up for water/environment problems, and most deficiencies come from surplus of other elements, its all about the balance, its all in the basics. Theres V+B users on IG pulling 3+ lbs a light regularly, hopefully we all get there haha.

Thanks man.. yeah, your lucky with that water.
It's hard to say what the makeup of hard water is. A lot of times it's sodium... and generally the minerals aren't ready for plant uptake. I was super surprised at first that I needed to supplement Ca/Mg.. I'm also growing some calcium hogs. I do see some fantastic results with the product.. are you talking about the "any KISS users using V+B" thread by chance?

trich , if your water is really hard just make sure you have plenty of runoff & get that runoff away from your pots before it dries up . thats how salts build up is when the water dries out ! if you get it away from your pots by draining it or sucking it out with a shop vac , you'll never have to worry about how much salts are in your water .
just never let that runoff dry out in or around your pots !!!

the hard water formula has less cal & mag in it than the RO formula . they assume that your tap has enough to feed the plants . your right in that tap that high is usually salts !
you may find your plants a little deficiant with a feed schedule like RO users feed with , cuz most of your waters EC is salts . so you may have to boost your EC up to keep your plants happy . your the only one who can find that sweet spot with your plants & water . just bump it a little every couple feeds till the top growth seems much happier .

Trich, Dansbuds is a champ with the V+B. Id do whatever he says haha. That "any kiss users" thread was what I was talking about. Heres the #2 trimmed up.
