east coast growers thread

Hey yall, ive been offline for a few weeks, its cool to see this thread is still active! I pulled the last living soil container a couple weeks ago, I think I posted a picture at about day 20....well, it flowered in a big fat lemony way. 50% more yield than either parent, and any seeds from the batch yet, so thats cool, probably A- on the smell, just could be a bit stronger, we will see how it cures out.

That said, for the first time ever, everything ive got is in coco, feeding veg+bloom hd, pretty fun change of pace, but im already thinking about getting my soil ready again. Everything in veg is absolutely beautiful, I slightly burnt a few cuttings after transplanting from the cloner, but they came around fast. My first few in flower are at about week 4-5 but started showing signs of needing something after bud set. To be honest, the only deficency I ever saw in my soil was a bit of calcium, so Im no good at diagnosing these things. The next few have been in for about two weeks, and have been just getting 700ppm every other day, and are looking great still. There all in #2 pots. Ill try to get some pictures up later if anyone feels like helping a clueless brother out. Peace everybody, looking good!

Thanks Rusty!

Yeah, a 1 gallon Hempy Bucket with coco. She was fed Maxibloom throughout, with a touch of Massive bud booster in flower every now and then. She's being fed straight water now.

I am unsure of the veg time...

Thanks for checking her out!

Nice, man, if yiu dont mind me asking, whats your watering shedule like/how much are you watering? Im an organics guy, but im playing with some coco for the winter, and Im kind of under the impression ive been over watering. If I water until i get about 10 percent run off, it seems to take two days of not watering to dry the surface out, im not talking bone dry. any tips on coco and small containers would be awesome. Ill get some pics up this evening for sure. Great work man.

They're lookin lovely heady, I have my first Useful gear going into bloom tomorrow or Sunday. Exodus Cheese x White Lotus, 3 girls. If they come out half as good as these or your IBG x WL I'll be thrilled. But I LOVE the cheese so I suspect one of these ladies will be suitable to my tastes

Hey Rusty,
Once the rootball is established, usually a couple few weeks in veg-you can feed every day. And sometimes you can even get better yields by feeding multiple times a day, again once the rootball is established. And in coco you want the coco to stay moist, and not dry out. Sometimes in veg you can let them dry a little bit to encourage the roots to spread. I think in coco they say the runoff should be about 20-30% to help keep salts, etc building up. In coco you should feed with nute's, and sometimes water with Calmag if you're running an RO system like I am. That will help with the built up ferts.

Hope that helps, thanks for checking them out.

Multi-drip always increases yield for me...
i let it dry out a bit too not total but def not good to keep it super saturated , it will become a haven for root rot and such
...have never ever watered to runoff, on purpose that is ,
and always always use calmg in coco or something comparable
and if using RO you most certainly have to use it , ive seen what it does when u dont...

Always feed every water in coco as well to not throw off the ph and ec, if in a bind you can water with plain h2o or whatever but get back to feed asap
...if worried about salt build up ratchet back your feed ppm or use a product like drip clean

Edit: BTW nice looking plants last page , so i guess what ever works for the individual works. I just think you could get more frost and aroma from a standard coco regimen JMO

Being this was my first try at watering nutrients ever, Ive been really worried about over feeding, now, im starting to think they may be under fed. Heres those pictures of the two most effected, I think the blue background definately makes the plants look yellower than they are, but definately yellower than Im used to, definately the worst ive flowered, but then again, im clueless haha, still fun.
Edit: The taller one is the plant that yeilded %50 more than either parent or any sibling yet in organic soil. The shorter is the momma

Just my two cents but I think those two plants looks pretty awesome. I try to wind down the nitrogen in my feed regimen so by the time the buds are big and swollen they are yellowing up nicely.
I'd say u did a very nice job.

Hey Rusty,
Yeah those plant's look ok too me. You want them to yellow up towards the end. Sometimes they can go yellow once they get rootbound before flower. Try another grow, and see how it comes out. Do you have a ppm pen?

Thanks guys, Im just not used to seeing this type of fade from these cuts, and definately not the tip curl or wrinkle. The plants ive put into flower since are all looking great still at week 2+, definately better than the first couple. Ive also got some old moms im about to flower in 5 gal coco. Everything im vegging is getting 600 ppm as needed, no run off, kinda just watering as I would organic soil, and they are all looking exceptional. The flowers have gottien 600ppm for two weeks and 750ppm at 5.8 pH, but sometimes skipping a day, maybe two as i felt they werent drying out fast enough.

One thing is for sure, even a dirt worshipper like myself, can find a great use for coco, in that, man, you can really keep quite a few really big, healthy, moms in a tight area, that has been huge. Bigger Moms in 1/5 the container. Thats awesome. If youve seen any of my older posts, you probably saw i dont veg under a ton of light. Its a crime the moms ive got jammed under my t5s total jungle with the cloner packed.
