Yes you can. You need to freeze both the plant material and chill the alcohol.

Alcohol exctractions of green material are typically not as tasty as from cured material, although BHO extractions from green material are more tasty than cured.

to answer your question I'm just gonna quote the grandmaster of hash from his QWET thread.

Sorry, I confuse myself sometimes!

May I offer an example?

We periodically present 10 MMJ patient classes, in some of the oil extraction methods. We extract:

1 QWET cured material
2 QWET fresh material
3 QWISO cured material
4 Ethanol reflux
5 Ethanol soxhlet
6 BHO cured
7 BHO fresh

At the end of the full day of hands on running 7 processes simultaneously, we share the product with the students, by vaporizing each extract in its own dedicated clean glass pipe bowl, and they report their impressions.

We also allow the students to taste an acetate and esters, to interest them in the next level of classes.

The reported results of those tests are as follows:

1.0 Most tasty was fresh frozen BHO extraction. The different floral turpenoid flavors soar in all directions and the word most often chosen to describe the flavor was "fresh".

2.0 Next most tasty reported was QWET cured, though by a narrow margin as compared to QWISO cured.

3.0 Interestingly least tasty was QWET of fresh frozen material which was perceived on average to be bland. One description was even soapy.

4.0 BHO cured was reported to have the most hashy flavor and was preferred by some.

5.0 I actually lied when I said that fresh BHO was voted most tasty, it actually ran second, but was first in the extractions.

Cannabis acetate actually got the most marks for flavor, but the test was skewed by some of the testers dropping out after the first couple of tests and only picking up on the last because the remaining testers were so enthusiastic about them.

Personally, I find them all a delight and it is good to be able to switch around. My absolute best four bean soup gets old by at least the third day.

edit: LOL, you beat me!

Little bit of fresh scrape to smoke before the movie tonight. Made with about three grams of frozen trim and 20 second wash in 99% iso

You shouldn't be breathing either fumes and Isopropyl fumes are worse than Ethanol. I do ethanol indoors on the stove, but isopropyl outdoors.

And if it's bad for humans, think about what it could do to your pets, and their smaller, kidneys and livers and central nervous systems. Don't expose your pets. This shit is not to be trifled with.

I don't have much patience, so this round of qwiso, I decided to use a cloth to wick off the excess alcohol, rather than evaporate it off.
This batch was made from about 4 zips of trim-

I'm hoping this helps to remove more clorophyl. Anyone else using wicks?

If you use 99% ISO and you do a 30 second quickwash with the material, Your end product will be very clean and contain very little to no chlororphyll.

The key is the 99% iso and the 30 second quick wash. You do any longer then 30 seconds and you will get some chlororphyll in with it. The alcohol should barely change colors if you done it correctly.

You may even look at the ISO afterwards and wonder if it even worked because it looks so clear and clean. But yet you will see when you evaporate it's there just doesn't appear to be.

If you iso changes color to a green or even a yellow then you've went to far or used to low % of ISO.

Water is the enemy of a good extraction the lower % of alc the higher % of water. Water will pull out chlororphyll rather quickly. 70% iso is worthless and if you use it your never gonna get the superior quality that can be achieved using 99% with a quick wash.

It's a choice really quality or quantity both can be obtained. But a quality quick wash is superior in every way aside from yield.

Thanks blazeoneup, I used 99% iso. I don't use 70% because they add lanolin, I guess to combat the drying effect alcohol has on skin. The last run I let the iso evaporate off over a week's time and ended up with oil. This time, after siphoning off the alcohol I got kief that looks like it was dry sifted. I wonder if I fucked up by using the hypodermic??

You may need to eat or smoke the towel bro. The alcohol with the green tint, also has your cannabinoids dissolved in it. Better to filter out the solids and evaporate away the alcohol, to leave the oil.

Yeah, fuck... I should remember not to experiment too much when buzzed. Live and learn I suppose.

Killer thread, been smoking QWISO for a few years. I usually mix in my blonde dry seive before the oil is fully purged to make it easier to deal with. Are there any disadvantages to doing this?

We call that jelly hash and my mother said it would make me go crazy and then blind.

She may have been right, as I'm almost there on both counts.
