dog started barking then bam earthquake...been through so many by now they don't even bother me....how many others been through an earthquake...just past 1 in the morn it went off....yeehaw
The one in Napa a couple years ago was a 6.0. I felt it pretty strongly in San Jose. There wasn't any damage here, but everything was moving. I was texting friends at 3 am to see if they felt it.
The first one I felt was in Fremont in 2011. I was in bed with the wife, and the bed started shaking back and forth. That was fun. I was wondering how well our 3 floor townhouse was going to hold up. I looked it up online and found the news about it right afterwards.
I would of been asleep but my dog sleeping in a chair by my bed woke me up...she don't miss anything...good dog....yeehaw

Fremont eh? Just a couple miles North...
I think that earthquake was centered in Hayward. Might be wrong. I lived in Fremont for my first year in the Bay Area. I've been in San Jose the last couple years.
I've never felt what a major earthquake is like. The ones I've been through, the room just shakes and wobbles around a little for a few seconds.
Went through all the major quakes in the Bay Area...
The 1989 quake had the hills of Fremont - Oakland liquefied. They were rolling like waves of water...
I lived in the hills of Hayward at the time...
