Physan 20 will kill everything but your plants guaranteed. $9 a bottle. 1ml per 10 gallons. Use for 8 hours in system and then flush. Innoculate with beneficials or go sterile.

Richyrich...Thanks for the heads up on physan, just picked some up and was looking at the usage rates, you say 1ml per 10 gallons? is that for the res and to do while the system is running? I am planning on doing some dips and spot treatment at the rate of 1 tsp per gallon(the recomended rate on the bottle for full emmersion) which is about 5 ml.

What is your personal experience with different concentrations and what was the initial problems?

I have never heard of this product, but I fully believe in the statement made that you either need to have your stuff completely sterile with enzymes or you need to have it full of beneficial bacteria.

Thanks...the buckets are sooo easy to deal with, to be able to take a plant and move it around for better light or just to put it on a table and give it sum luv...I have been using them for years and years, luv 'em.

Right now I do not use them for veg, but I do use the controler and some 2X4 trays...works great, just have to get the trays and controler at the correct level and it is all good. I usually use those little square black pots, line 'em up/fill 'em up with rocks and put the rockwool cube in. I have also just filled the entire tray with rocks and just set the plants in...that way they do not get root bound as quickly but they are in a fixed position and can't be moved around, also you have to be carefull when you remove them to be put in the bloom room, the roots tend to tangle up into each other.

Co2...I actually ran thru my two tanks way to fast, I think that there was small leak in the regulator but I guess for a few days the co2 was high.
I believe that with adequate airflow, co2 is not a huge necesity, I have gotten great results with and without...but if you can, co2 is always a good thing.

hi again,
I also saw the bio bucket system from B-T and honnestly right now i m lost about what system to built .
it s everytime the same issue once i m sure of the system i m seeing a other one wich seems as good or better so since i do not really know now wich one to choose i d like some advices.

the difference for me now seems to be that the bio buchet system is easier to built .(and take in consideration that i live in france and the parts aren t as easy to find as in the us or uk if not totally impossible to find )
In france hydroponics systems are 200 years behind if not more so......

people with ideas are most welcome .

D - Root rot is an environmental issue, best cured by fixing the environmental causes if possible, I fight it in veg and bloom both also, but have never used additives to do so. The causes I see are heat - so I insulate to combat it. Low air, usually an air hose that came off, or a dead air pump, easy to fix. And finally, systemic contamination - it gets into the tubs, buckets, net pots, and air hoses, finds a comfy spot and spreads from there till you clean it out. Sinse I can never get everything clean, all at once, it gets back into the clean system and the ride starts all over again. Still, the effort helps.

Any time I am transplanting, I do a root dip and massage any rot off, so they start clean in the new container. I use a bucket of tap water with the chlorine still in it which is of course a very mild disinfectant. Dip, dip, dip, massage any bad areas off, bless the plant and transplant. Very little rot, if any, on the subsequent root autopsys after harvest.
