Early outdoor-indoor?

Hey everyone
I have finally got picture's so i figured i should start somthing!
As the title might suggest these plants were vegged indoor under flos to go out early, But being new i jumped the gun
Oh well easy fix i happened to have some very generous freinds, So now i have a 400watt hps in my closet with 23 plants 1/2 bagseed and 1/2 afgan x super skunk running 12/12!
I'm in hopes of getting a nice harvest around the begining of summer. Somthing to look forward to while the rest are bakin in the sun
Already have pulled 3 males only 7 days in
But planting from seed whatcha gonna do?
OK well this fist one is of the plants vegging when they were bout a month old.
The second is of the closet and a plant i had been vegging since dec.
lol! ya dec i was alittle gung ho!!



The bigger plants needed some serious training to acheive the sog affect!!

Well thats pretty much it for now, Gonna scrap the space bankets tommorow for some white paint. Any other suggestions?

Got the walls painted today made a huge difference!!
Also made a hole for a vent, Right now i'm just using a small fan but come warm weather i'll have to "step up" to somthing better.
Found two more males today ANOTHER one of the 5month old plants ONLY 1 left but she's got hairs all over so at least i 'll have one monster in the room!
Maybe........ 18 thats how many are still in 5 have good hairs shown!!
Well i guess i can go put them to bed it's been 8hrs since i painted should be vented by now!

Andrew, i just switched to my 400 and 12/12 about 1 1/2wks ago so unfortunatly
I'm still pulling males. Down to 16 "little ones" and 1 that vegged 5 months.
I have no idea what to expect i'm just glad to be growin my own!!


Doja, The plants that i'm growin in the closet were supposed..... to be planted outside but as you can see in this picture i still have snow but this is 1 of 20 new outdoor starts about 2wks old with my "buddy" lookin out at the snow!



New update: Got 5 femmed super skunk seeds tonight!!
that makes me very happy due to the amount of males i have had with my afganie x super skunk so far but the seeds were... 2yrs old.
So i'm thankful they grew at all.
I'll probably grow them up abit in the window and pick the nicest one for a mum for a future indoor grow.
Then plant the other five in a nice outdoor spot.

Another new addition is a homemade bubble cloner!
I've been wanting to make one since i cut my first clone, but never really understood the idea but with a little research on ic,
I decided it would be a fun project.
So i started 5 sour deisels clones in it today hopefully i can get a staggered age grow of sour d and super skunk for mid summer staggered because the sour takes a long time to finish but it's worth every minute!!
Well hibernation is over i'm off to soak some skunks!! JS

WOW.... what a sucky saturday!
Started out with 4 more males!!!!!
Down to 12 little ones.
Then when i start to think all is lost in walks this sexy bitch!

Well climate wise in the ol closet we're at about ideal fall! With temps at 60f@night and 80-82 during the day the plants are loving it!
The big girl was root bound before flowering started so i got her a nice 3 gal pot to finish out in after she started to show.
Also finished up the vent for now it's just temporary so don't laugh

The light adjuster/blinds actually works wonderful!!
probably could have used somthing other than duct tape but hey nobody sees it but me....and you lol!

Due to an inspection this morning that revealed 4 more males

As far as i can tell atleast 7 of the 12 left are definate females but i'm not tryin to count my eggs before they hatch!
These next two are right after i got the big girl in her new bucket.
I chose green cause it seems to be her favorite color.
She wears it so well!!




another couple weeks and she's gonna make a happy man oughta me i hope!
And speaking of a couple weeks happy 2nd wk birthday too all these little seedlings!!
Well most of them the ones in the front maybe a wk.


Those are a few seeds i got from an older grower from my area.
He's been growing the same strains for years, So as long as i'm careful w/males they should do great
Soaked all the SS seeds 24hrs and now there nestled in a tuperware hotel w/a brawny blanket for the wk.
All of them sunk after about 8hrs and this morning they almost seemed bigger...?
They must be as excited as i am to grow!
Also planted 3 clones that rooted out of their peat pellets.
All are from the big AF x SS plant i'm flowering.....3/6 so far
Also got the bubble cloner runnin sweet today! try to get pictures tommorow!
Well thats all for now.... I guess lookin back it was a prety good day after all!
I mean what day doesn't have a male every once and awhile?

very cool ideas here, I like the blind idea, not too much weight for those tiny strings? But novel idea none the less.

Yeah thats what i'm talkin about!
Thanks man thats what i need is some bud pictures!
And the blinds actually will hold around 25pds before breaking and it's the plastic frame and the locks that give way, the string is braided so its quite strong!
GREAT NEWS: Three of the femmed SS have cracked
After a 24hr soak and being in a paper towel only 12hrs!!
That totally made my whole 4/20!!
Well that and the fact that the closets turning into a stage for the coolest hair band ever!!
The girls are really started to show i'm almost willing to say 10 outta 12 are definatly female.....ALMOST!
Well i should have had pics tonight..
But i killed the batteries taking pictures of the newly sprouted bulbs my daughter and i planted last fall.
spring is definatly in the air
I've got to get to work on my coldframe.
Could have probably had little ones outside today but it still cools off quick.
Well i think i got my link saved on my sig so hopefully i'll have a couple more vistors thanks sir

Today makes 3wks flowering
Down to 15 plants, 1 big agany x SS and 6 small ones.
then there's 8 bagseed. Out of those there's only 2 that STILL haven't showed sex.
The af x ss have really hearty stalks and seem to strech abit more but also seem to be the most vigorous.
They are really starting to smell and most are get some serious trichs!
these are all of the big girl cause i hate to dig out the little ones! But i will!!

then there's these not to good.
But i'm gettin better @ closeups i think?
But i could use some advise cuse i'm just not getting the definiton i would like.
I have a 8mp kodak but it doesn't have macro only close up.

Thats my five sd clones in ther right now but i have another top that will hold 20.
Just running 5 to see how it works.

Hey JS I'm glad you have your grow link happening. Looks like you're in for some beauty buds yourself soon if it turns out like what the Dog has posted. That moonshine looks tasty. I lucked out on my harvest being ready to enjoy on 420

Don't be afraid to pull the plug on that HPS when taking a few photos. I still use a 4mp camera but I do have a few lenses & a hot shoe <<< external flash. Plenty for web shots, the one great thing about lots of pixels is the picture within the picture. Since a cropped shot would still look good online. I'll be checking in on your grow keep her coming.

snuck in and grabbed the "little ones" out for alittle photo op!

I was trying to seperate them by strain.
But i didn't have much time before lights out so i'll do that next time.
It's acutally getting hard to tell the diffrence betweenthe bagseed and the
af x ss.
Seems like the last time i grew these they had bigger/wider leaves but that was outdoor?
And 5yrs ago so hard telling.
I'm just glad to be budding plants in april
Well here's the plants that vegged for 1 1/2 months







And then i took this one trying to get some detail on the tops but i need to get some better lighting in my pics i think?



But getting them out of the hps light definatly helped!
Well two more of my femmed SS seeds popped so i planted them all today.
There was only one that hadn't broke open.
But it was starting to split.
And i was already mixing up soil for the rest of them and another
"big girl" clone.


I only had four clear cups so i figured it would be a good chance for a side by side comparison peat pots v pro-mix, ewc and 25%perlite.
I put the four with good root showing 2/cups and 2/pp and the other 2 are marked in cups.
So let the games begin.
The peat pots will be in a dome in a shaded window and the cups in my bread box, its been a great germinating spot
I think the peats will probably break the soil first they seem to sprout up quick in a dome.
But after they break the soil the one's in cups will have the edge.
But regardless these will be getting alot of coverage because these are the future of my growing!
They are also the first legite gentics and first all fem and first purchased seeds that i've grown.
Boy alot of firsts for six little seeds to live up too!
Well tommorow i'm starting a new cold frame for hardening off my outdoor stuff and for a summer home for my sd mum and soon to be SS seedlings.
I'm in hopes of makeing it big enough i can reuse my old sliding glass door as a top.
This will make ventaltion an open and shut process and with some black plastic on the sides i might be able to cover it this fall to get some sd to flower in time for my short season.
but we'll cross that bridge when we get there JS

OK, I didn't break out the girls yesterday.
It's been like 70degrees out all week
So i have been trying to get my outdoor ready.
I did try to get some pics of "little girls"
These aren't the gany x SS
I just call them "girls" so they'll ALL turn female
These are the strain i got from an older grower.
He has growin this strain for more years then i have been alive!
And to me calling them bagseed would be disrespectful.
So for the sake of a name i'll call them......old faithful...yup thats it.
Alright, so here's a picture of the OLD FAITHFUL seedlings and there's a "big girl" clone in the front row too.



I've got a little bit of a lower leaf yellowing issue.
Not counting the clone she's just makin roots.
But the rest have only been getting afternoon sun. Maybe not enough?
But i gave them my usual molasses,ewc and fish emulsion tea @ 1/4 strength.
They'll be going out soon so i want them to be strong.
And speaking of going outside this is what they'll be living in.
For at least a couple days maybe a wk.


Well thats just the frame. But as you can tell this isn't some fancy carpentry Thread.
I throughly believe in doing it myself and try to do the best with what i have.
But being a family man i can't bring myself to spend money on things just because they are pretty.
Especially when i have somthing that will work!
That being said this picture is not finished!!
Just had to button it up before dark! And i ran out of staples(dumbass!)
But you can tell i'm not going quite as big as i thought.
The sliding glass door was way to big and heavy so my old storm windows will do fine.


I know your all probably saying: that's the most shitty look'n coldframe ever!
Well its not finished yet.
Not saying its gonna look much better!
But i'm a function over fashion type a guy!


On a brighter note these are four "big girl" clones


they got bleached from the sun
I forgot them when i went to work and by the time i got home they had those white spots.
You can see it better in this picture, along w/my venus fly trap. I keep it in the window with them to keep em safe!!



Obviously it dosen't protect aginst sunburn!
They should be alright.
I put a screen in the window that should filter some light.

And an update on the race!
One SS in the peat pucks has broke the surface!
But i'm going to be lookin when they go outdoors to decide which is better to start in peat or soil.
I've heard the pucks limit roots but i always take the wrapper off mine as soon as i see ANY roots.
I went to homedepot and got a 250cfm duct fan and thermostat today.
I'll hook that up and finish the cold frame tommorow
and hopefully post more pics!! JS

Well I got my cold frame finished!
And then ran off to work without taking pictures!!
I didn't put the old faithful seedlings out cause it was kinda overcast and cool.
But tommorow is supposed to be nice.
I have to kinda close down for the weekend my little girls b-day is sunday.
Lots of family coming over so i gotta move some stuff out in the woods for a day or two.
None of them would mind but i'd just rather nobody SEE anything.
So the cold frames got veggys in it, the bathroom cupboard will have towels and the bedroom will be locked and sealed.
This is going to be a long weekend knowing my sd mum who has never been outside @ night and the OF seedlings still not a month old will be all alone in the cold.
But maybe i can leave them all in the bedroom???

And an update on the SS, Three of the seeds in cups poked out!
even the one that hadn't split came up that leaves one in peat pucks and one in the cups to come up........waiting.......waiting.......just kidding!
Thats one thing i have had a hard time with is letting things do there own thing.
but i'm getting better
Had to water the 2L's agian today thats every four days and i've even been weighing them to make sure there dry before watering.
Its amazing to me how much water and nutes these things demand during budding!
I probably feed the big girl more in two wks than i did the whole 4months she was vegging!
Lucky there all not that big or i'd have to get a 50gal drum to brew tea in!!!
Not that that would be a bad thing i guess?
Thats about enough rambling for now hopefully i'll have pics of the super skunk babies in the next day or two later JS

Well i made it through the birthday party!!
Good thing i took the time to put everything away because it turned out rainy.
So everyone was inside and about 10 more people than i excpected showed up and some are very opinonated!
But all is well and a good time was had by all
During the after party i was actually gifted 5 BUBBLE DEISEL femmed seedlings
After moving my sd mum and clones out of the bathroom i decided that really isn't a good spot everyone goes to the bathroom DUH!!!
So i emptied out a large tote and filled it with my new bubble deisel and my sd mum.
The cloner i will have to find another place to put it.
Shouldn't be very hard as the lighting needs are minimal.
My new vent fan is working well temps are staying below 82 unless ambeint is above by alot but that doesn't happen much even in summer.
Here's a picture of the new setup, the reason the top of the closet isn't painted is cause i ran out of paint and money @ the same time.lol
And here's the finished cold frame and some old faithful seedlings and the 4 big girl clones






Then i have good and bad news on the SS one of three pictured below died
but the other one in a peat pucks popped and is doing great!




This is the first seedling to pop and i transplanted it into a cup of straight promix right after this pic due to the wrapper being clothtype i didn't want roots haveing to penatrate so i took it off and it started to fall apart so into a cup it went.
The peat pucks i got @ wal-mart last time sucked!
I liked the ones w/plastic mesh not these cloth things but i hear they have them made of hemp that would be ideal to me!


SO as of right now i have:
14 female 1 1/2mnth veg 3wks flower/closet
1 "big girl" afxss 4mnth veg 3wks flower/closet
1 sour deisel mother 24hrs constant veg/tote
4 fem SS seedlings veg/window
5 bubble deisel fem seedlings 24hrs veg/tote
4 big girl clones/coldframe
17 old faithful seedlings, unsexed but 3males already showed in coldframe
WOW i really thought it would take me a looonnngggg!!! time to build a good stable.
But if i can find a decent mum from both the BUB DEZ and SS i should have some serious bud for a long time


Boy the gowing bug has bite me hard!
Next round in the closet will be grown in a diy earthbox i think the resivour will benfit my style by not haveing to worry about over/under watering.
And space will be used efficently due to long skinny containers and i will use seperate containers for each strain so if fert needs differ i can adapt to each strains needs.
And maybe another 400 or even maybe.......a 6 if it were air cooled hehehe!
Just some thoughts i've been pondering let me know what you think.

WOW it is pouring here today!!
Supposed to get 2" of rain!
my coldframe is leaking like !@#$$ crazy!
All the seedlings got soaked last night but i got them in the dry side now. But they got drenched last night.
I was thinking about it last night and it can't be as bad as out in the woods but they are small still so i worry.
Well on a brighter note everthing in the closet is going GREAT!
everone has started budding out really nice
It's been one month since i turned 12/12 and man i'm glad i did!!
Its looking now like i'll be harvesting and planting in the same week!!
That is so cool this indoor growing is the coolest hobby i could have ever picked!

Never would have thought i'd enjoy it so much.
Its been 5mths since i quit drinking and i started five plants THAT day and in another month i'll be half a year sober and smoking my first harvest of my OWN GREENBUD that I grew indoor!!
Boy i couldn't be happier with myself

Well here are some pics of my new tote setup with my sd mum, 4SS and 5 of my new seedlings that i learned are Mango x Bubblegum x SD! sounds delicous to me!






And then there's these girls some sour d clones that have been in peat pucks
for 2wks





They took awhile but three have showen good roots and they all look good so they can take their time.
And here are the latest closet pictures this first one makes me so proud










And then the lights came on so i had to cut it short.
Don't like to mess with em when their sun bathing.
But i got this one and another close up of a big girl bud, one of the many!




I had a little visitor on one of the budding plants yesterday two sets of bannas under one of the buds on top nothing developed and just two?
But i just picked them off and will keep a close eye on that one till finish!

Glad the birthday party worked out for you, opinionated people can be a pain in the ass, lol. And that's a cool little mini-greenhouse you built outside. Do you live in a small town or the country or something? Doesn't look like the burbs. I'd love to be able to grow outside but it doesn't work too well unless you have a high fence or your nearest neighbor is far enough away.
