DWC Single Bucket 101 evaluate and question.

Boy Howdy!
Meters definitely Calibrated definitely. Temperature Compensated.
Tap PPM 91
Tap pH 7.33

I found Aqua Flakes A & B 1 litres for 18 bucks so I have ordered that and a bottle of CalMag ($18 Botanicare) seems like this would be a good intro to DWC? pH up/down ready but I think I am going to see fairly stable 5.8 to 6.0 pH. I have over 80 hours of research time in on this most being here and an hour or two on Youtube videos so I am hoping this along with keeping a tidy res, watching temps etc will get me through to a successful first run.

Seems like a touch of H202 if needed is acceptable but maybe emaculate res hygiene is better. I have to run as simple (frugal) 1st setup so I am going to run without those extra goodies as I have an Organic Super Soil habit that I also have to keep up. Fractional dosage feeding on the flakes and a healthy dose of CalMag to start.
Do I back off the CalMag as flowering progresses or keep the dose constant or increase dosage, or none of the above?

Using a 600w HPS
Nirvana Northern Lights from seedling or DS Cheese Candy Clone

not sure what aqua flakes is and you only need calmag+ for use with reverse osmosis water.

I suggest staying with chemical ferts in a single dwc like gh floranova 1 part. DWC needs low rez temps or you start to get root issues. You can add a bit of h2o2 here and there as needed too. but wouldnt recommend that with organic nutes.

if using ro and cal mag+ you want to taper off later in flowering like week 5 on...it has nitrogen too thats why.

Thanks Tribe, So using tap water what if any calcium/magnesium supplement would I need? I ran across a very successful youtube grower that called for CalMag if your tap is below 150ppm using (aqua flakes) but I have also run across a successful grower who used only the 2 part nutrients (aqua flakes) and no cal/mag supplement mentioned.

The old thread also never mentioned ppms of water although I understand if you have a high ppm water it usually can be assumed that there is cal/mag in it. I also understand that the GH 3 part has sufficient cal/mag in the bottle once full doses are achieved. I followed BurnOne's Beginner Organics thread to a T and have had great success. Unfortunately I have not been able to find the same in regard to DWC (Bubble Bucket) and there is a lot of disagreement and contention on the subject every where you look.

Cool rez & lots of dissolved oxygen = happy roots. Hold off on the H2O2 treatments unless you get slime or rot, it kills the friendly bio too.
