DWC ran out of water. Give up or have hope?

Hey guys,

I have four Apollo11's in a hydro setup and they've been doing great up until now, they're on their 4th week of veg and I was about to switch to flowering tomorrow. They've had 0 problems (except the tiniest amount of nutrient burn when they were first put in hydro). They were really the picture of good health.

Unfortunately, I was gone for two days and completely forgot that I should probably give them a new container of water, and so I got back this morning and looked in on them and they looked fine, so I thought I'd give them some new water when I got home this afternoon.

During that period, they ran dry, and to make matters worse, the roots had ensnared the airstones so the airstones were just helping to dry out the roots even more during that period. I'd estimate they were dry for approximately ~8 hours. When I got home, they were wilted like crazy and it had a faint lettuce smell ( :( ).

Will these guys rebound back? or should I just give up and get some new seeds?

I'd take pictures but my only camera is loaned out. If pictures really are a make or break deal, then I can try to get some.

Please tell me (truthfully) they're gonna be fine, just a little shocked and upset for several days :(

Try to revive them for sure. If they live, give them a week or so to get over stress before you flower them.

what yohomz said ^ plus if they don't come back to your satisfaction at least you can grab a few clones and go from there, rather than going back to seed (clones will be faster than starting again from seed).

bummer indeed :(

Should I grab clones now or give them a chance first? Yeah, clones would be way better than starting from seed, since at least two of them preflowered female (and I think one was about to be a definite male, the fourth undetermined).

I'm pretty sad I hurt them this much when they were putting such heart and soul into the project :( Oh well, live and learn if nothing else.

Live and learn, man. Give them some time to perk. I'd take a couple of clones from each plant NOW in case they don't make it. Cannabis is a hardy plant and it's actually pretty tough to kill it. And A11 is good genetics...

I grow in dirt and a few weeks ago, I had family come to visit. It was really tough to tend my plants on a regular basis and I had a couple of plants go TOTALLY dry... I'm talking completely wilted and the bottom leaves starting to get crispy... I wet them down really well and babied them for a couple of days and one of them came back.

Good luck. It's tough when you make mistakes like this, but as long as you learn from it, it's not a TOTAL loss.
