Durban Poison | Which Breeder?

I've been trying for a few years to find the really dense, anise reeking, 20% THC, short flowering, cut thats going around Denver (Its not purple). The nug is at The Clinic and they use it in their LA Con cross but no cut available. It came from Cali and I now suspect it must be the SamS cut.

I've had to wrestle some 16 week gorilla arms phenos to the ground, toss what looked like bag seed plants, kill mites and pm in the name of the hunt but still don't have it. I really don't want to do door to door looking for it. Any Colorado peeps know a club thats got it?

dang, looks like i haven't hit this thread.

got my dp from marijuana-seeds.nl. like 'em, dunno why they don't have more recognition. inexpensive too.

real sativa, long and green, none of this wide leaf stuff. thin stems. fat buds stack foxtails profusely, needed support indoors. coated in trichs. high is very clear, my favourite for programming. loved the taste. top of the bud popped out at 12 weeks or so, so i guess it must be a "dutch strain" to some extent.

some people wouldn't fuck with it, couldn't give it to them for free. don't know if it was the weed or the juju i put in it to fuck with my enemies, but they could handle my haze so must have been the latter.

I find it wild we can't find this cut. That is the fast flowering dense anise high THC cut.

I have found over 100 threads and 1000+ posts in various forums looking for it. Its all over the dispensary scene in Denver. Most of the big Dutch companies had it at some point, it spread from Cali, survives in Denver. It should be everywhere!

I've read - its dead, its gone, all Durban is a waste these days, it was hybridized to death...etc etc etc but every few month I see a nug of it...every few years it surfaces to win an award.

The history of it is just as interesting. After months of research this is what I have found and some speculation tossed in.

(This was taken form another thread...I have learned these old stories are not always true but this is what I found)

Seeds came to the USA but were hermmie prone and most would not finish on time in the north
Sandy Wienstien. A founding member of Sacred Seeds discovered the Bay Area Durban Poison clone (the same clone All dutch DP is based on).
From what I can tell this was gifted to Mel and then Sam who selected for northern capable phenotypes.

So we have wild Durban, Bay Area Durban and a Northern Durban. We also have the notoriously exclusive F1 Durban (which might also be the cut I keep seeing). I speculate that the DP cut is not producing good seeds because it is from before Sam did the selection for northern pheno's. Other companies (at least 3) have introduced new lines straight from Africa which explains the massive long flowering monsters we find from time to time.

I will find this cut soon or die trying

snow high seeds company :)
My friends in CO grow Devils Tit. REv has some kickass Durban crosses. He got his breeding stock straight out of Africa. Hopefully he cracks some of his library beans before he dies.

Mel Franke & Sam both have claimed credit for Durban Poison; I'd be interested in hearing Sam's account and if there is any validity to Mel's claim(s). (Excuse me if this has been previously covered and please link me if it has)

I just grew out some Durban. Had three slightly different phenos.
Good hearty strain. Dense buds. 1 pheno finished a week earlier than the other two. Two pheno's were trifoliates. One pheno was more sativa leaning. Two phenos had red veins underneath the leaves, one pheno was all white. All were healthy. Got seeds from all of them, so I'm glad for that. :)

Ah, sorry.
My comment was in reply to the Durban x skunk crosses being called "shitty", when infact the ones I grew were better than all the pure durbans i've grown combined.
It was from seedsman.i think he calls it 'early Durban' if I remember correctly.
But please note- that was back in 2007-ish. Not sure if they are the same as they were then. When I first tried (real)GSC earlier this year, the taste was exactly what those d x s tasted like(with OG funk mixed in of course). It's a very specific taste that's unlike anything else.
I am sorry as well. thanks!

Wow hard to imagine she is 50% Chitral. Seems like the Durban used for the cross was a really extreme sativa type or very dominant.

It's not Chitral but Afghani.

This is Durban x Chitral(or opposite?), Durbakistan by Tropical Seeds
