Drug Test I need advice...

Gotcha - didn't figure your plan was to go in with a shaved head, but thought I'd mention it since if you go in with an inch or less of hair and the testing instructions state that hair samples an inch and a half long are required, they MAY go to another area to collect that sample. I don't know about you, but my hair grows slooooow- it would be at least 3 months to grow an inch an a half. Don't even know if the inch and a half is any kind of a standard, I just saw it on an instruction sheet a while back.

Good luck - looks like you've thought this through, so I'm sure you'll be prepared.

It is a valid point as that is the first thing I hear people say when they hear hair test. "I'll just shave it all off!" But they don't realize that no hair means no job. It's just as bad as failing.

All the info from the internet as well as the testing labs state 1.5 inches. I figure after I'm at an inch I'll be good because the hiring process takes some time. After a call back you have to do the interview and written tests, then assuming you pass those you get scheduled for a three day hands on test. Assuming you pass that they then call back for the job offer then a schedule for the full physical and drug test with the company physician. So it's a lengthy process. It's a lot of bullshit to jump through for a job but it is what it is. They write the check so they make the rules. :(

My brother has real short hair all the time. Like a .5 inch short. When he did his test they just took hair from multiple spots on his head. I don't know if that is standard or if they just make a judgment call on the individual or what.

Edit: Oh yea, I tested my urine again this morning on the first void with a test stip and tested negative. Day 8. The last time it took me almost 2 weeks so I'm thinking because I work out now and eat better my body has cleaned itself better.

I'm not an expert but I think they actually burn the hair or whatever in a mass spectrograph so I wonder how good cleaning the hair would be, I sometimes wonder if sometimes the employer just gets your hair but don't go to the trouble & expense of testing!
If they actually test you probably need to look for a new job, none of the KITS have worked for me!

From what I've read the different methods of cleansing damage the hair allowing the other chemicals to get inside the hair and damaging it further making the test negative. One popular method is bleaching and re-dying your hair a few times. I've also read that recent tests can now determine if the the hair has been damaged and can be cause for a fail. It's all on the internet so it could all be bullshit though.

I think the same as you that some employers may not actually even test the samples. But I'm not willing to take that chance. :D

During my last escapade I found that none of the methods or shampoos worked for me either unfortunately. That's why I decided to just do it the old fashioned way.

Now here's what I did...

1- I used distilled vinegar. The clear kind for ten minutes. Then I followed that directly with the apple cider vinegar for ten more minutes. Keep a moist towel at hand in case you get some in your eyes and be able to do all this with your eyes tightly closed. You can't open them without getting them burned. I did mine over my kitchen sink.

2- Then with my hair still soaked with the vinegar I used a bottle of Clean & Clear astringent in the pinkish brown bottle. Scrub that in for ten minutes. Maccujo lists the cream. Use the liquid astringent. This strips the inside of the hair follicle.

3- Then wash it all out with Tide laundry detergent. Scrub good and brisk for about ten more minutes.

4- Then I used Paul Mitchel Clarifying Shampoo Three. This is a hair stripper that removes everything from your hair. I have a girlfriend who owns hair salons. She uses this to strip hair of everything before applying anything like color or conditioners.

Then I smoked me a big doobie on the way to my hair test. PASS!

Burn1

Ok, BurnOne. Being the impatient bastard that I am I'm going to try this again exactly as you've stated. I ordered everything today and it'll be here by Friday. I couldn't find the Paul Mitchell and C&C locally. And I scheduled a hair test with Quest Diagnostics on Monday.

My hair is a little long right now. For me that is almost 2 inches so I think I may head in for a trim tomorrow.

If I fail I'm only out some money so I figured it's worth giving this another try.

If you have cancer and lost all your hair, but you couldn't afford health care, can companies discriminate ? Im sure it would be expensive for their insurance.
Somewhat off topic, but with the health care issues and all, Id like to know if its impossible to find a job if you're sick and don't have $

If you had cancer and lost all your hair - I doubt your reporting to work regurarly. You would have some sort of healthcare because it's usually the treatments that cause the hair loss etc.

And if, big IF,,,, you were sick and on a job search, we probibly wouldn't have this discussion. Most employers with a suitable opening wouldn't be trying to fire you already, like the O P.

In a reasonable world... which it seldom is.

I just had a friend die who went to work as often as she could with cancer. She had to wear a wig, but she needed the cash. Luckily she had worked there for about 30yrs

I tried all of the things Burn One has mentioned and then some. for 2 weeks before my test. I still failed. and i hadn't smoked for 30 days prior.

if you have no hair on your head and wax your body you can only be pissed tested.

they cant discriminate like that. that is a lawsuit. they have to piss you instead.

Not to negate burnone...he isn't the type to spew shit...

But how come no one else but him is passing with the hair rinse process?

Something in the hair type perhaps?

Thanks much Newd. I appreciate that.

I've done lots of reading on the hair test subject Reaper. The consensus is that light colored thin hair is the easiest to get clean on the inside. This is the exact type of hair that I have and it obviously doesn't work for me though. The other and I think most determining factor is frequency of use. Most of the reviews of people that I have seen pass using the Mac Method are light to moderate users. Although there are heavy users that I've read about that have passed.

Who knows? It may just be something specific in each of our genes that allows one to pass and not another. Below is a quote from my post on the first page. I've done a little more research on this but have yet to find anymore information about it.

I also found this following quote in the FAQ on Hair Confirm's website that I found interesting.

In the case where a long term THC use is present (like medical marijuana) sometimes the individual’s body can create a masking agent that would hinder the marijuana in a drug test.

I do like the body wax idea. But how about telling them no.

This used to be America darn it! Piss and protein are our personal property.

It's time we had enough of these idiotic and slanted intrusions on our right to privacy.

Let's take back our country, our work places and our private lives.

Peace,

You don't have to submit, it is your choice. But you get NO JOB!

Exactly. And although it sounds great and I agree the majority of people don't really care if they are subjected to pissing in cups and getting their hair cut. I would love to tell them to kiss my ass but unfortunately I would be living on the street. I don't think there are jobs that exist anymore that don't require some form of drug test. At least non that I have seen.

My last employer only required a piss test which was great because I just used Quickfix. I got to the testing site early so I hung out in the parking lot and poked a few one hitters for good measure. :D
