droopy youngins

hello all and thanks for takin an interest in my plants.

i have 2 new clones in my DWC system. newly transplanted but they arnt looking too good at the moment. they are pretty droopy and one has a lot of discoloration.

this one has a lot of dis coloration and some burnt tips.

this one is very droopy in its leaves, i started training it though as you all can see.

like i said they are in DWC and im feeding them the 3 part formula from www.greenair.com. im using what they suggest as well as some cal mag. the temps are at 85 normally. they are under 2 23 watt blue CFL's at the moment with a 250 HPS waiting. im not sure what else you need but i will be checking this frequantly so i can answer all questions quickly and to the best of my ability:) if anyone would like different or better photos i can do that as well.

cheers and thanks in advance :joint:

Did these clones even have roots when you transplanted them?

It looks like the first one is eating it's leaf, as though it doesnt have roots yet... and the second one looks like mine do when they begin to dampen off...pre-root situation yet again.

klutter - thanks for the feed back. yes both of them have roots. and had them when i planted them. infact the first plant had roots first. ive also read of people putting their cut clones straight into what ever they will be growing in. i didnt follow that and had them sitting in shot glasses for a little over 2 weeks until i noticed the roots. any suggestions on what to do about this?

How high is your water level in the bucket/rez? I'd make darn sure it was maybe 2 squares up on the net pot... I would almost fill it to the point of being able to barely see the bubbles from the top. These ladies look like they're dampening, starving and possibly aren't getting enough water.

I would also add nutes...maybe 250ppm worth... if they're gonna live, they'll need both.

It's always so hard to troubleshoot the young ones... I'd say for one thing though, ya probably nailed down what went wrong already.

Oh and one addition - make sure the temps are good and they aren't getting too much light. With everything going on those are the last two things that ya want off...

Klutter - thanks a lot man. i do have nutes in there just a little bits worth. like i said in my first post im using the seedling/clones solution from www.greenair.com. my temps range from 80 at night to 85 during the day and they are currently getting 12/12. i wanted to 12/12 as soon as possible to help with the size. i will be filling the rez more today to make sure they can get water. i can totally understand what your saying about them starving though. ive been watering them for the past couple of days since you recommended it to me.

Seems like ya might be rushing it quite a bit on these... unless they've changed quite a bit, they look like the kinda clones I would just pull and throw out.

Normally, if roots are present (more than root buds, actual roots) then moving them into a DWC rez really shouldnt shock them at all. Unless they are not getting the water they need, light is too close, stem is rotting, etc.

Best bet - like you said everything seems in check, so now it's just a waiting game. May take a week or two for them to get back in action, if they do.

My clones always do that heavy drooping thing for the first day after transplanting. Its just a form of transplant shock. If they have roots and are reaching the water they will perk up the next day or two.

Klutter - i really appreciate all your help. they look exactly the same as they did at the beginning of the week. they had roots and i added an extra gallon of water to the rez today so it is up to about the 3rd square in the net pot, im hoping this will help them out but we will see. im leaving them for another week and if theres no improvement then they will be chucked into the compost pile :(.

ItsGrowTime - im hoping they are in shock and with the increased water line im hoping within the next few days they will perk up, but thats a lot of hope:). thanks a lot for your input.

i will be posting pictures in a couple days whether they perk up or not but im looking at my alternatives for finding new plants.

Oh they have been like that for a week? Are you SURE they are getting water directly to the roots? Also, a couple of small 23w CFLs isnt much light from that distance. Id replant them and make sure they are getting water and get more light over them...or just put the 250w over them. Also a fan to lower temps would help. 85 is pretty high....whats the water temp? It sounds like you have mainly environment issues to sort out.
