yes, thank you doc!

can you explain the mixture that you clone in? very interesting I wasn't even aware cloning could be successful at that early of an age. topping that early will definitely produce some bushy bonsai moms

thanks bro ! :rasta:

NICE METABOLISM!!!
is massive cutting (like you do) the only way to maintain leaves small?
we know that cuts slow down the growing process, but how to keep leaves that small? do I need to take cuts about every week?

I'd like to have a few micro-bonsai mums and dads, like yours, with tiny healthy leaves and trunks. I don't want huge things in my micro growspace!
Any clue would be appreciated.

cheers

Great pictures, I love this technique for moms. I've always thought moms should be as small as possible while staying productive.

Doctor-

It is commonly assumed that HID lamps are best operated horizontally. Do you think that this holds true with CFLs..?

Doctor,

Do you have a general strategy that you use to determine where to make your cuts so that your moms achieve a particular form? For example, the classic thread by Oldtimer1 that has been around since OG describes a strategy that strives for a bowl shaped plant with about three to four main branches and all growth within the bowl is pinched.

It appears from the photos that you have posted that you are simply taking cuts whenever they are available and not necessarily cutting to form the plant into a particular shape. Perhaps that is something that only becomes relevant later in the mom's development.

Respectfully,

Dr. Jones

man ...what a grower....does it get any better then this guy when it comes to outside the square.

your a wonderful grower dr ...:)

Doc, your work is the absolute kind, good sirrah. Please accept my abundant praise as humble offering for your work and continued efforts. You're helping bring a new era of both greater variety and greater security in the growing scene and you should be commended for that.

One question: Are you originating the mums you're taking the cuttings from directly from seed in the cups or are these mums themselves clones taken from a master female? I ask because I'm still not sure about how to keep the height down when starting directly from seed. Do you find your mom candidate first and then take a mum from her to do the small cuts or is there a way to grow out a plant for the 2 months needed to sex out?

Any help on this would be appreciated. Rock the fuck out. :D

what method are you using to get roots out of those micro cuts??? it sounds like u get 100% roots from yur tiny cuts.....pleasse school me on how u get such tiny cuts to root? thx

Hey doc, been following all 3 threads here. very informative btw. thanks for sharing. few questions bout producing a mom. i'm copying your setup pretty much. Got some mums going, hopefully. havent been sexed yet. but i need to know when to top them to keep them real small like yours. I've posted some pics.

These are at 3 weeks 3 days from planting the seed

Seedlings up front, clones from my outdoor plant in the back. gonna make a mom from that too. its already a known female :rasta:

Anyways question is, "is it time to top the seedlings yet? and clone them for backup purposes during the bonsai? Your help would be much appreciated.
