I think you could make some decent money doing seeds as a side gig.
Hell, I’ve had offers from friends to buy my seeds & I end up just giving them some so I’m absolutely positive that the market is still wide open.

Really whats the cost for you to produce a few extra seeds right? For any newbie growers that's peace of mind that even if they kill a few they will be guaranteed plenty of females and end up with a keeper, or they can keep some for another grow or give away or trade with friends. Either way If I had to choose between a really well known breeders 10 pack with 1 free seed, or a 15+ pack + small freebie pack where I know there are still good genetics behind, I would always go for the latter.

I advocate cheap packs ($25-40) so folks can choose exactly what they want & not have to worry about getting seeds they won’t ever use. :biggrin:

I advocate cheap packs ($25-40) so folks can choose exactly what they want & not have to worry about getting seeds they won’t ever use. :biggrin:

Back when I made the Pink Bazooka hybrids, I did a rough calculation of my cost verses seed count. I made a little over 3000 viable seeds with about 350 watts of fluorescent lights. With the numbers and math I used, it worked out to about $125 worth of electricity to make the 3000+ seeds.

So even at $1 per seed, you can see how the math works out. But I do know, that's not the only cost. Packaging, shipping, all that adds up. But on the flip side, I found enough seed containers and mylar bags for 250 packs of seeds for like $50.


Which brings me to my point. I could vend them for the price's you mentioned and not lose money. I won't get rich, but that's not the goal. Say 200 packs of 10 for $30 each = everyone making out good, and everyone is happy with what they get.

purple killing fields x ssh? I'm with hova on that one. If you do decide to jump in I'd gladly buy a pack or two to support a fellow member.

I think i remember reading that he has the 60 day ssh pheno that hit like 28-30% thc
And the purple kf is a straight church pheno

Speaking of ssh have you ran it yet? Which breeders version is it? I thought I saw a while back it was shantis but I could be mistaken???

The SSH I have is from Shanti gear. I'm told it's the same plant that won two cannabis cups back to back. I made clones and was gonna flower the mother. But then gave away and sold a couple to a local. So gotta wait for more clones to root before I flip her.

There are was 2 main cuts that went around.. both from shanti in some way ... whadeez won multiple ht cups last few years with one of them... fast girl 8-9wk flower time... more of a jack type plant imo but tests high 20s may of hit 30 % before.. pretty sure spicoli was the one responsible for acquiring it... the other cut was also big in socal and was more of a rank cat piss type... went around early 2000s longer flower massive yielder haven't seen it at all since 2010 ish.... not sure who possibly sub rob or maybe grey skull before he moved to Hawaii had sumthin to do with acquiring it, not certain on the history of that one .... then there was one more cut , Rez dogs cut outta the north east which was a 20 weeker...

It's the 97' SSH, can test at 30%. Pretty sure it's the same cut Deez has. 9 weeks and it's done. Pedigree doesn't matter much to me. If it's killer smoke or not, that's what I care about. I culled a few "clone only's" because they weren't up to my standards.
