I know that they have a "comparative study" on the internet done with none of the science that says they're the best EVAR PERIOD. It's on a previously unknown .com website called "cannabizzLED" or some such and their fixtures are advertised in the margins, so make of that what you will.
If you want some real science for picking a fixture, very few universities have studied them for horticultural uses. Utah State did one such study and found that LSG and Spydr's products had the highest watt to PAR efficiency ratios of 10 models tested and greatly outperformed several other models that have been repped hard on internet forums.

I think you'll probably have to study up on photobiology and then dig for university studies if you want the best bang for the buck. There's a huge spread in how these things perform.

Looks like you already have your answer man. You keep referring back to that specific so it seems your mind is already made up. Order it already and be the first to report back if that's the case... if not, do the studying like the rest of us do as far as what wavelengths do what to the plants and when they should and should not be used. From there, compare wavelength data from those studies to wavelength data provided by the panel makers...

so you want to have someone else that has taken the time and made an informed and educated decision to just pop in here and hand it to you? That in a nut shell is the problem with todays society.
I am new to LED growing, I bought a blackstar for a few reasons.
1: people out there have used them and been successful.
2: they shipped from within my country so no borders to deal with
3: 3 year warranty
There weren't a lot of threads out there on them, so i read what I could and made an informed decision from the information at hand. That is how life works JR.
Take the two you have selected above and google. when you think you're done, google some more. read. read. read.
or sit in here, complaining that no one will give you the answer you want. even if you do get an answer who says that they know any better than you do or Joe at the hydro shop.
Want some input on a tent? maybe a genetic options or someone to mix your ferts too. Hell maybe someone should smoke it for you while you're at it.
The fact that your thread is titled after one light and now youre compairing 2 others also wont help you find an answer.

Pick something that worked well for others and go with it.

Hey man, Yeah I agree with you Kollos. People are rude around here. Just so you know, theres nothing wrong with asking your opinion if you want, especially if you've searched and havnt found much. ANDD there nothing wrong with sharing the information you spent time reading and researching with other people (hand outs) if you want. If you don't like it, move on. simple.

The other day rives and exploziv helped me out with some ventilation problems even that i was pretty dumb to understand their meusurement ( same as this hardcore spectrum debate im not an electrican)
But they stayd and helped me untill we got it solved out,

I think GodsChronic is sort of right. LED is a newer system and not a lot of people have tried it, from what I gather when i looked into it a year ago or so it really isn't that great and not a lot of people want to drop the cash on unproven stuff. There are a lot of shady dealers of these products and many are just producing low quality products so going with someone that isn't a major player is probably not a good idea. Maybe check out some of the larger online suppliers of grow equipment and see what they offer and maybe check if you can get it cheaper direct from teh manufacturer. I just took a look at htg supply and they had quite a few in stock, live pretty close to their actual store and they are reputable.

Oh, and you really might want to rethink growing in a dorm room, if that is what you are planning. Its just a bad idea. If you are a college kid you will want to have people over....know what you don't get to do when growing weed. It just really isn't secure enough.
The led panels company name is the cleaver guys named their brand to dormgrow... How smart is that, haha.

And that is why while you, OP, grow shrubs and are happy with your 1 oz harvest per plant.. if that... while I on the other hand continue to grow trees and reap the rewards of knowing a thing or two about the science behind what I'm doing....
