Wierd,
While I appreciate your noble intentions, sending out joy vibes to the psychotically greedy parasites that have engineered this mathematically impossible to resolve reality will not change a thing.

IT WILL IMPAIR YOUR ABILITY TO EAT.

This takes things out of the realm of philosophy and into a demonstratively historical recurring pattern of dislocations of supply lines with the caveat being that it will be on a global scale instead of localized.

Food and fuel. How much do you have in a 20 mile radius and what are the demands on both with the population density?
This demands some serious thought because both just don't magically appear and those with first access will not be inclined to 'share' in the face of increasing scarcity.

Lucky for me, a local rancher who has a wholesale meat business is a burning fool, so I trade my produce for his, both fresh and smoked. I get MEAT AT PENNIES A POUND. Buckets of grains, oil, dried milk etc. are tucked away with 55 gallon gas drums.

Urban areas are going to be a living hell. Might want to give some thought to a rural lifechange.

Prudence isn't fear. It prevents fear.

Great post, I think the bolded portion is lost on many people.

Well I guess the whole point of your post is lost on most people.

But hey' if they want to send out positive vibes and hope for sustinence, that's one less person I have to defend my supplies from...

Yup,
I ain't really very smart but I live in tornado country and being prepared makes all the difference between alive and dead.

There may be something about this karma business, but the fact that you have to be dead to get it makes it of no interest to me.
My opinions of an afterlife undoubtedly will change when I have more empirical information to go by. By that time it will be a rather moot point.

I absolutely believe good actions and positive attitude are important, firstly, it makes you feel good, second, who knows how the future plays out? Maybe that guy you shared food with 3 weeks ago, saves your life instead of walking by or w/e....

Agreed,
However, I don't equate common decency with a grand metaphysical design.

'Do unto others...' pretty much takes care of that and the rest is busywork as far as I'm concerned.
Us old boys pare down that busywork business and leave it to the youngsters. They always like to try to make sense out of things...

We grizzley bears know not to bother. Some shit just don't make no sense but it happens anyway.

karma obviously probably doesn't exist as a real force, it's a philosophical concept of dharma to help society regulate what its priorities, laws and morals are..

it is one of the niyama dhammas of buddhism.. the hindus and buddhists considered it a law that would keep you "trapped" in rebirth or samsara because it is all about the causal results of materialism..

I see "karma" as being the inner conscience that all non-sociopathic humans share....

It's a powerful force, that subconscious is...

First thing I am doing is taking over my apartment building and cutting out the stairway, then I am going to go sit on my roof and smoke a fatty. Hopefully get my hands on some off road bikes, guns or spears etc.
I plan to wait two weeks for the first morons to off themselves. sometime after that I may decide to seek higher ground or I might wait a bit longer.

well it has a classical meaning that has been altered to suit the modern western lifestyle, in most people's own definition it is a combination of destiny/predestiny and "do onto others"..

what you are talking about is the collective telepathy which is a real thing, if you want to call that karma then it is as valid as any modern interpretation..

the real original meaning can be found in the bhagavad gita which speaks on multiple levels but is largely about consolidating the theology that came before niyama dhammas with the new movement of the time..

We have to change our banking system over from a deficit/liability inflation based system to an equity inflation system. The result of this will be an end to deficit spending and an end to the national debt of every country on the planet. Unfortunately, this will devolve power away from the banking cartels that currently control/own almost all of the wealth on the planet. The trick is getting them to understand that an even greater amount of wealth awaits them if they make the switch and do so before the patient dies.

I'd go into the depths of this, but is anyone really interested in some in-depth macroeconomics like you have never seen before? Great thread, BOG! K++

karma is very real, simply lose the exotic definitions of karma and replace it with the reality

the reality that your thoughts bias your actions and reactions and those actions and reactions are your karma manifest

its that simple

where most people get disconnected is in the chain of causation in karma which creates

the cause and effect of our actions (karma) is not all chaotic and random as people would seem to believe but is subject to laws as does physics

except these are the laws of human nature that we are all posses and are described in the ten realms of Buddhism

take a good hard look at those realms and at human behavior and you will start to understand the nature of our being in regards to its effect on the world around us (I would be welcome to anyone mapping human nature in a more concise manner)

99.9% of people grossly misinterpret the dogmas and philosophies of man

there is natural observable phenomenon in our nature and the nature of our planet that reveal the natural mechanisms behind the seeming supernatural

this is the purpose of these practices

and faith is the common bridge used to keep on on a path of understanding until the supernatural becomes a naturally understood phenomenon

something that takes years, decades if not a lifetime to unfold

our enemy now is the same as it has always been

ourselves

the base carnal animal like being we evolved from we can easily emulate but this is not out true potential, out true potential lay in our advanced central nervous system and brain which can be override the base carnal part of our being

a good example of this is the monk Thich Quang Duc who set himself on fire to protest the Vietnam war

his mind was so resolved to this solution he controlled his body throughout his death form reacting to the fire

he had control over that base carnal INSTINCTIVE part of his being unto death

not to encourage this type of action but it illustrate the potency of the human potential over the base carnal part of our being

we have to encourage each other, regardless of who we are and where we come from to embrace this full potential if we are to follow our destiny instead of being doomed by our own fate

because in the end we are given the free will to manufacture either

and once again it becomes that simple

So I have to study the ten realms or w/e, and over come my carnal body,

And then Ill be able to self immolate without pain, awesome.

Or I could just, ya know, be nice to people and live a life of love.

No need to get all religious or spiritual, unless that floats your boat.

Regardless though, "karma" doesn't "exist" as a tangible thing, and no it doesn't abide by any laws like physics.

or have complete control over your carnal being to achieve a higher potential

understanding human nature is very relevant to spirituality

Regardless though, "karma" doesn't "exist" as a tangible thing, and no it doesn't abide by any laws like physics.
if that were true there would be no school of psychology, philosophy or psychiatry

the understanding of human nature as described in religion and philosophy can be mapped to psychological and sociological mechanisms we have discovered

a good analogy would be the kung fu master versus the modern sports trainer

they both can employ a practice that brings the body to peak performance

but in a deeper regard to human nature our actions don't always elicit direct results

our actions cause people to think and react or not react or to use that experience to bias a future reaction

that is karma and the results you will get are not so random that they can not be calculated to an extent

this is how physiological profiles work

there are only so many results from human behavior even when interacting with other human beings even if the matrix of results is beyond our ability to understand fully at any particular moment

this observation is not unique

most philosophies and religions are based on the notion that if reverse the zoom on the microscope and see the big picture that there humanity is connected in a way greater than we initially than we know when we fall out of the womb

science hasn't proven otherwise

your nature your being effects others

live long enough be honest enough with yourself and you might see it for yourself

to think otherwise is to live in denial

Karma is very real and it is one of the higher laws. I think it does relate to cause and effect and I know I inflict my own karma on myself.

There are more than one kind of karma. The kind you accumulate over many lives and the kind you accrue in this incarnation. In this life we have forgotten our past lives but they are still what made us who we are at birth. We continue to grow and change with each life and it's a fresh start free of the memories. It's the only way we forgive ourselves...by forgetting the past.

I feel the system is perfect...actually I know it is. This system is dual evolution. Physical and spiritual evolution paired. The process of survival of the fittest and karma trains our subconscious mind to grow and evolve. Each life we forget and forgive ourselves so we can start over but it is really just the one you. We are eternal.

In an out of body experience you can realize that you are a god yourself. Quite immortal and as invulnerable is Superman in a universe with no Kryptonite. So be happy.

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...for life is just a dream...

Reality is ours to change and we are a collective subconscious mind that together as one is incredibly powerful. If we understood this we could do anything.

Oh man...

Looks like we got some serious inflation in the soul pool.

Where are they coming from?

Seems like we got too many already.

Then add in all this recycling...

Sheesh.

No wonder everybody's meditating, cuz that's a skull-scratcher for sure.

Must have been a bunch of pissed off souls since Adam and Eve waiting on stand-by.

Does the waiting room have games and puzzles and stuff to keep you busy?
