yeah i know, floanova rocks!

i used it in a homemade DWC sys. that i built.

it was nothing short of amazing.

but, i'm going to go 100% organic from now on.

the best crop i ever grew was an aquaponic sys.

man, you wouldnt beleive the flavor and aroma.

I switched to floranova about 2-3 years ago and love it I still have like 1/2 a bottle of micro and grow that I don't think I will ever use.
The flora series is great. Nova. licious and plus with some Kool Bloom, molassas and hygrozyme.

:jump: :muahaha:

Nice work by the way

I remember FLORANOVA - your bushes are amazing. Now I use GHE - I'm also happy because their nutritiens work perfectly but unfortunatelly they are expensive :(

Plants look good, I've been using Floranova as well, just wish it wasn't so dang thick, I learned threw trial and error that it should be mixed in a gallon container and then into the reservoir because it's prone to not mix well if poured into the reservoir directly (like you would with General Hydroponics three part Flora nutrients)

My res has an Eheim 265gph compact pump that's sole purpose is to whirlpool the water and mix the nutes, plus an industrial air pump to a really good airstone.

Hell I even tried a Hydor Koralia 3 (850 gph) circulation powerhead, but even that couldn't mix the Floranova properly in the reservoir.
But even though it's almost as thick as molasses, it produces good results, that's why I use it, even though I have to mix it gallon by gallon. Going to try mixing it in a 5 gallon pail next, and throw the Hydor, Eheim powerhead and an Eco Plus powerhead in the 5 gallon bucket, and see if that can mix it more efficiently. If that doesn't work, I'm getting one of these

GH says to not premix for some reason? This stuff is so thick I would def recommend pre-mixing.

I think they meant pre-mixing and leaving pre-mixed for future use. You are right the stuff is heavy and will sink to the bottom of the res if not mixed well. I would only pre-mix my inital batch for my res then just top off every week or two just pour what I need in to a cup and mix wiht a little water and in to the res.

Lets see some more picts :headbange

I should have been more clear, I pre-mix the Floranova in a gallon bucket, but nothing else is mixed aside from the water in the bucket. On the label it says -Shake vigorously-, or something to that effect.

Even after shaking the the Floranova violently in the container it comes in, it will still not be mixed enough to pour straight into the reservoir, if you pour it straight into the reservoir, if you look at the spot you poured it in, there may be a patch of Floranova on the bottom of your reservoir, even with better than average water circulation. I first shake the crap out of the Floranova bottle, but I've never been able to use it without pouring it in a gallon container, and then shaking that vigorously as well until the mix has no residue on the bottom of the gallon container.

Good stuff, just thick :)

whodi: i wouldnt really say as to whats better because there are so many factors. better for what? fast growth? tasty herbs? color? it depends on your situation and what you want your plants eating. commercial growers prefer the gh stuff while alot of hobby growers use the ff. thats the pattern i have seen here but of course there are exceptions to each as well. i can say that there arent near as many full blown indoor organic comercial ops as there are conventional or hydro.

I use Floranova and yes its good stuff I think. With a new res, I just fill up the res just short (a gallon or two) of capacity. I fill a milk jug halfway with water and add my other supplements to that jug (Hydroguard, Hygrozyme, etc), shake then add to the res. Then fill up the milk jug and add the necessary amount of Floranova to that gallon (100ml), shake the jug real hard then add to the res. It ends up being mixed well and filled properly. Do NOT dump Floranova directly into your res!! Top offs are done the same way.

how much of this would you use in the average fulll grow from seed to budz harvest? you got me set on buying it for ease and apparent results

I started just using the quarts last year, cause I was low on budget, and they are a lot easier to mix and use than the gallons. I mix my nute water well in advance of use, then pour through a screen into my reses to remove precipitate particles. If you want more flavor, add florolicous bloom.

in HW?

in HW?

Hello Peep's, I've been thinking about using FloraNova for a while but I'm in London in a hard water area so does it come in a HW formula,as I hate to add too much PH down if at all poss?If not do you find ur PH is fairly stable anyhoo as I don't like to keep adjusting as I don't need to with current nutes. Any help would be appreciated! JBo

Im not aware of a hard water version, at least not here in the US. Its just separate Grow and Bloom bottles. It would probably work ok in hard water. It is ph buffered and contains humic acid so as long as you keep your nute solution dialed in the ph should stay stable.
