Damn I miss my donkey kong cut lost her to the Borg. Well I actually tossed her because of the Borg and I was moving and didn't wanna infect my new place.

Well she looks great Mr. Tea can't wait to see how she turns out for ya.

Yes, I hope she turns out well, last round sucked due to uncycled soil………alas, this round is not going to be the case. Got some 3 month cycled soil in there now. I am really excited this time around, she's going to yield fat. Definitely a solid plant for the scrog what with all her insane lateral branching and all.

I believe I had a unlabeled clone... won't know until tomorrow when I take inventory of my "on deck" veg box... bout to begin thinking whats gonna be new seed popped for my next run... My Donkey Kong has a definite banana nut muffin smell, no doubt... just in the jars so no taste test yet.

YO!!! Long time no see. Unfortunately I forgot to take cuts off mine lol. She's in some old soil and didn't turn out as well as I'd hope, but I'm going to have like 1000 seeds of gg#4 x DK lol. First time the soil was new and uncycled, this time the soil was old and needed amending. She's still going to yield around 8 zips.

I'm positive I can get Donkey Kong over 35%. I know there is a 3-5% potency increase by growers using DE bulbs Phillips/Ushio. I grew the tested flowers under standard 1000w hps bulbs. I just need to upgrade all my lights!

I saw that over 33% THC-A number in another thread, just wanted to say congrats. I went through the records of the weed store I worked at back when I worked at it and in about 1000 lab reports over about a year and a half the highest THC-A number was 34.1 (+ 0.93 delta9THC), so you're really in world class territory. Pushing it even further with better lighting sounds like a it would be worth the effort.
Great looking photos too, reminds me snowshoeing season is just around the corner.

Thanks PDX! Setting up some Phantom DE ballasts with Ushio lamps tomorrow. I'll have some new test results in about 9 weeks. Fingers crossed I go over 35%. I honestly believe I'll get closer to 36% if these lights do what people have said to potency.

If anything, I'd hhave to say logically that des increase resin. A. Resin is light sensitive and it's development can be stunted by intense light. B. Dual ended fixtures put out more light in a spectrum better suited for flower formation, so calyx development out paces resin development resulting in a lower potency %. You wanna crank out more resin content, get yourself some ceramic metal halide 315w's in vert donuts and lift the light away from your canopy for the last two weeks of flowering.

Maybe just the way I was using the twin 315s but i could not break 31.6% THC-A. Went back to 1000w HPS and now on to DE. We will see what happens...

I'm also not sure that THC-A is exactly attributed to resin content? Donkey Kong doesn't usually appear to be my most resinous or frosty plant. I think my Grape Sromper is the frostiest. She only tests around 24%. Looks like it should be 34%. DK does have some huge sand grain type of trichomes and the scissor hash will dab pretty clean on a hot nail. I can tell you in many ways that this pheno of DK, as a strain is an anomaly. Not only in it's tested potency. It's easy to grow, stacks and structures like a champ, huge yields and quick finish. Can't forget the KO high.

Biologically speaking the light does not directly increase resin production, cannabinoid synthesis supposedly occurs during the dark cycle, so the light would directly influence flower production moreso than resin production, which alone will drop your potency a relative 2-3%? So your 34% thca would be (34 x 0.97) not accounting for the degradation of resin glands as a result of more intense light. If I'm correct, in theory the same strain under de's should see an inconsequential drop in cannabinoid but a sizable increase in yield
