Hey Dude, thanks for stopping by... I use two different lights here, for a couple reasons. I am a huge believer in mixed light spectrum lighting..in nature, plants just do not only see orange or blue light.
and It is good for the plants, if you look at the upstairs plants, they are not even half as full as the lower ones, the upper using cfls bulbs, the lower with the HID.
I will get some comparisons this week for you to see

My mexi brother, how goes it bro, yeah I am happy with the results, once I can figure out what I need to do here, with plant numbers on each level I should be good, teh space will open up once I switch some to flowering, and that is supposed to be this week sometime

Nice, really looking good Doggy. I am also dealing with some cold temp issues in my basment. really need to grab an extra space heater.. You on the other hand might need to invest in a greenhouse furnace.. Can I suggest the brand Modine.. My boss has 25 of these, one in every greenhouse, (40'x100'). They do a great job, even in the coldest parts of winter.. Radiant floor heating is the cats meow.. less energy and way more efficient. Harder to setup though if the floor is already laid...

Modine eh? I will look into them, I wish I had the chance for floor heating, that is where the problem is of course, cold roots, make unhappy plants
just had a thought on you cold floor probs bro....what about camping matts, you know the stuff you sleep on,,, its cheep as chips around hear + this will at leats take the chill outa you floor where you pots are sitting,,,,i use it in the winter aswell, i can walk on my floor space in bare feet and not even feel the cold.....you shouldnt have to cover the whole space,,just put in under were the plants sit.....

That's a great idea, and cheap too. I'll give that a try as I have the same problem with cold floors.
youed be suprised how much of the chill it takes out bro...when you think about it, when camping you never get cold sleeping on the ground if you have 1 of these mats..so in theory it should work for roots aswell lol

Some of the 'pink foam' solid insulation would work wonders on the floor, too.

That is an idea, but I have issues with having wet anything staying on floor, I currently looking into getting milk crates to get the plants up off teh floor

But, the styro insulation sheets might cover more area cheaper, easier, & better.
It'll get all dented up & disentigrate real quick tho.
Unless you put sheets of luann (or similar) over the sheets of styro...
Now, it's getting less cheap...

Insulation is one of those things imho you get out what you put in.. Insulation helps year round. In the summer it will help keep your gr cool so for the three months that you use ac you will use less saving money.... short term solution space heaters spread out...talk about cost..
