Go pick up a Tool album, there like todays Zep/Floyed only using instruments and sounds that are available today, I know change is scarry but it's somthing ya got to deal with.

Just watch my sig for good music every week. Mostly old stuff but I toss in some newer stuff that I really like.

I am also very picky about music. Rap=lyricists IMO not perfect pitch.

Rock/metal= banging your hands on the steering wheel or air guitar. Dont get that much anymore.

But there are good bands/artists out there, they just dont appeal to 13yo girls (the major music purchasers) so they never get exposure. Which is good because just as soon as a good band makes it big, the record execs tell them what to release and the art is lost. (except TOOL)

yes, today's "popular music" is garbage. every single song uses a vocoder, so no one has a voice anymore. everyone sounds like a robot. there are still bands making good music though. Radiohead and Mars Volta have produced a lot of good new music in the last couple of years. Phish put out a solid album a few months ago and are firing on all cylinders on tour. You just have to look harder for good current music. You can't turn the radio on to hear it anymore. That's why radio is dying a slow painful death right now..

radiohead, I like some of their songs, but damn depressing..

Oh man...I can't stand listening to the radio for more than 1 minute...every time I turn it on I hear some really sappy stupid pop song...the other day I heard a guy?, I think, singing about how he thinks he's weird because he doesn't like goodbyes and he gets hugs from fireflies and he would like to beleive the world spins slowly...WTF kind of trash lyrics is that? or the stupid Uncle Kracker song about how "youre better than the best, you're like sunshine you make me smile..yaddda yadda"

everything that's on the radio in my neck of the woods is trash,,,'cept for one station..

progressive hip hop isn't bad right now... Try Black Star, Atmosphere, Cunninlynguists, Kid Cudi, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind tricks, Living Legends, or Lupe Fiasco... shitload of good hip hop out there... just isn't shit that gets played
