"does THC potency matter?"

a posting by Benzinga today on MSN asks this question. the article, by Martinovic, offered evidence from studies showing that smokers/vapers preferred using the weed with a bias toward the flavor/aroma they liked, preferring it to higher THC % varieties. what we think we will like apparently has a measurable quality/quantity and effect in re to our perceived satisfaction . is this an extension to what we now call the placebo effect?

i've bought and cheerfully smoked some regionally grown weed before that , honestly, didn't get me "all that high". but it smelled wonderful, it tasted great, and you could smoke a pretty good sized doob out of it between 2 people & still be coherent. THAT's what i need to find/grow...

No it really doesn't matter. I gravitate toward cannabis that makes me feel good; uplifting and positive. Mostly older varieties. Some of the newer stuff that is high THC is ok, but to me often misses in the subtle effects.

I am prescribed a variety that is 6% THC & 6%CBD. You'd think it was hardly worth using with those numbers but it is surprisingly good.

yes and no, I love chems/diesels and they test high and taste good, but there is more to it than just thc because smoking that kind of flower will typically get me more fucked up than dabs whereas dabs are more of a less dynamic straight shot to the head

I pick booze somewhat by alcohol content, like no 5% wines and beers over 6% are typically not that great

I agree with the post. THC is over rated, is a combination of it all. The whole picture. I'm vaping my Moroccan Beldia that's mine right now

very cool, hows the taste and effect?

personally i dont look for high thc, most stuff that is around i'm dosing ridiculously low for my prefered type of effect, beeing motivated and entertained is what i like. taste and terpenes are very secondary for me.

The beldia tastes wonderful, sweet much like honeysuckle .It has a sweet kinda minty smell when crushes. it's effect is mildly uplifting and notably short. For me it encourages creativity and and abstract thought.

Thanks a bunch, that sounds really terrific! I have a 5 pack and if i will get an opportunity to grow them out after my hiatus i will try and do an open pollination.
Pretty ridiculous with only 5 seeds but whatever haha.

So I grew out only 3 of 12, 1 male and 2 female .A strange thing is one of the females was sterile I pollnate it multiple times it would not set seeds. So I got plenty of seed from the other female .Next season I'm definitely growing out the rest along with a few of my new ones and doing the open pollination thing. Hay we do what we can.I guess it dosen't matter if you get more males or female if all goes well you'll have 5 mixed into your gene pool of beldia .here's mine last week in August 40 degrees north.

I go type of buzz, duration, flavor, strength.
Strength is not just THC. Most of the extra high THC weeds only get me high for like 20 minutes.

that would have been one that i would try to re-veg or clone. refusing to get knocked up could be a desirable trait if one was growing close by others that might not be watching for males. or outside downwind from a hemp field...
I know I thought about that but I just keep trying , I never heard of such a thing. I've made successful cuttings about 3/4 through flowering but this was just to far along by the time I realised what was going on .yah and it was the best out of the two

freaks of nature like that drive me mad. a friend had a White Widow once that was MUCH darker green while in veg, and only had 3 fingers per leaf from top to bottom. it looked NOTHING like a pot plant. i nearly stepped on it as he was showing the garden off. he was going to get me cuttings from it, but cut it down from paranoia after some county road workers got too close...:badday:
