Great thread!!!!

I only use the smart valves in my setup. It's far cheaper and more flexible than the kits. I am in a small space and the square shapes are better than round shapes. I run either 6" pots or cups in my trays. I like that I can mix and match. I can move my valve to anywhere in the tray if I need to space things out. The only kick is that I need to flush a couple times in flower if the plant has a greater than 60 day flowering time. I've played with root control fabric and wicking material along the way and did not gain anything. Now just run with 100% coco and use botanicare nutes. My newest addition is that I have a mirco-pore diffuser that sits infront of the valve on the rez to prevent clogs (and aerate the water). If you find the ceramic ones they last for life.

I like square pots as well man just more space effective getting the right pot size and shape does make a big differences when using the smart-valve less water in the tray means faster wet and dry times. I found i got some root rot when i tried 100% coco with the smart-valves the taller square pots must be the go with 100% coco your plants are looking a lot better in them.

Hey guys just finished another one using oxyplus (fixes root rot no matter what you do) also used calMax for killer results, but just tried another brand of cal-mag now all my lines are blocked must be because it has molasses & cane sugar in it FUCK now have to flush and clean all my lines. like the coco idea in those big tubs (agree Craven more wet dry times the better) where did you find those tubs?

So a lot has happened since I last posted,

1) installed a 10 channel web relay with temp and RH sensors ( so lights AC etc are all automated)
2) installed a LPG co2 generator
3) installed 3 x 450w led panels to replace 3 x 1000 hps
4) using no medium at all except for the large wool blocks, new root control for the auto pots works a treat, no more blocking up the valves with roots and flooding/drying out.

Pleased to say along with the auto pots I now only visit the room every 3-4 weeks to have a look its nearly fully automatic, and next step is to replace all other lights with led as I find them to have much closer internode now under them.

Only news on my end is that I'm daydreaming about getting growing again & that may or may not include my autopots or valves. I bought stuff for a new larger system w/ pumps 'cause I wanted to top water with my coco mix but I really do love the autopots so I'm sure I'll use 'em for something. Moms if nothing else. Curious if anyone has seen a full-auto/no power top watering system? I guess a simple timer/electric valve would work but I'm brainstorming about some way of a system that could follow a plant's needs throughout the grow and through temp/humidity changes and rely on no electronics?
