drug testing is so very wrong in every way you look at it.....why do you Americans stand for this shit? next thing the authorities, if they get their way, will be drug testing your children every month...then how long will before there's compulsary drug testing for every person and any who fail will get jailed? not too long by the way things are going!
I'm not American, but unless you people in the US do something now then this insidious creeping invasion into your private lives and personal freedom by big brother will spread throughout the world.
ask any older men who fought in World War Two if they risked their lives so their Government could resort to ridiculous interferance into personal lives while they continoue to waste billions and most would say of course not...they fought and died so things like this wouldn't be allowed to happen.
the stupid part about this pre-employment drug testing is that a once per week recreational cannabis smoker who is competent and so right for the job fails to get the it while some whacko or space case on Oxcontin, Ritilin, Prosac or other commonly prescribed brain twister or zonker gets the nod...lol..do they test for mental instability, insanity, alcoholism or for other nasty traits?...nah... but smoke a joint once per week and you are unemployable and are marked for life!
my advice is tell them in writing
"Dear Blah
Subject : Pre-employment drug testing.
I am an experienced blah blah and also I am responsible, hard working, eager and willing to work for XXX company to the best of my ability.
Please see attached copies of my resume.
I have never been charged or convicted of any crime and hereby give my permission for your company to conduct a nationwide check for any criminal records.
I am not taking any prescribed drugs and while I'm not an illegal drug taker, I refuse to take any drug test for constitutional, legal, moral and personal grounds but welcome any physical, competence or intelligent tests you care to offer and also welcome any performance evaluations at any time during my employment with your company" etc etc
send this letter or one like it addressed to several people in the company, your immediate future boss, his boss and the state or national manager, not just the human resources clerk you are dealing with.....make sure it's typed up without typos and sent with your full name, position, address and phone numbers etc....also make sure you address each letter to that person's full name and position and the letter is sent registered
(* imo cannabis is not a drug, anymore than wine or tobacco is...but in my opinion meth, Oxcontin, crack, Prosac, Ritilin, heroin and other hard and addictive drugs obviously are)
if those brain washed, mechanical corporate monkeys refuse you then in my opinion you are better off and should work for a company that doesn't resort to wasteful, far right wing, invasive and unconstitional Nazi tactics.....or better still, work for yourself.
you know, if enough people who qualified for the job refused to take drug (THC) tests then their whole corrupt house of marked cards would come tumbling down and pre-employment drug testing would become but a bad memory of how wrong things were before they got right again...
