I am going to be doing a small pheno hunt on some crosses I did, so that I can find some mom plants on the crosses I made and already tested. Then also testing out the ones I haven't yet.
I am starting over from scratch I was forced to stop growing a few years back but now I am ready to start again.
The seeds I am attempting to sprout are:

Garlic Breath x Garlic Breath
Desconocida Kush x Garlic Breath
Delhi Friend x Garlic Breath
Montana Silvertip x Garlic Breath
Platinum Animal Cookies x Garlic Breath
Orange Cookies x Garlic Breath
And a few bag seeds...

Also I am attempting to save ATF, I have some seeds (About 50) and have been just doing one at a time trying to germinate them but not having much luck
So anyways, for now I will be trying to get around 50 seeds to sprout, then I will start weeding through them and getting rid of the males and undesirable ones to work it down to basically just find a keeper mother of each variety and to see if those which will stick around.
For now I had 23 crack and put in solo cups in some Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Maybe 10 have broke ground. They are on my desk under my LED desk light for a couple days. I have to dig my grow tents and lights out of my storage. And once these babies all sprout I will update you all!

I guess I didn't realize how much has changed since I quit growing. I went to go get soil at my old regular spot, they moved, the building was empty lol.... Go to the new location, they have no soil... Call the nearest store and the guy says "Yeah we have it, but we actually bought up all of another stores inventory as they were going out of business, so we have Fox Farm, but it is old it's from 2020". I eventually found some so on with the show!

Sounds like you’ve got a really exciting project going! It’s great that you’re back to growing and already getting some seeds to crack. Can’t wait to see how your pheno hunt turns out—best of luck with those ATF seeds too!

Thanks! Appreciate you stopping in... I am praying the ATF gives me at least one to work with. It is some of the best smoke ever and knocks you down even if you don't grow it right. But it's more sentimental for me a loved one that passed was growing it since the 90's and they couldn't keep their garden healthy anymore and lost it, but they handed me a bag of seeds they found in it over the years and asked me if I could try to germinate them to help get the garden back up, and I did try, no luck and then they passed away so the ATF seeds are honestly the only ones in my entire collection that even really matter to me. Everything else, is just everything else. I will try these ATF one at a time and try my best until I either get lucky or run out.

Here is a quick little update. I will say this is day 10 since I wasn't keeping track but probably should, and also need to start thinking more in terms of end game goals. I guess I probably have to wait to see what all sprouts to see what we have available first. I started with around 100 seeds, and ended up with 40 cracking. Of the 40 that began germinating, 33 survived in the paper towel finally and they were all put in solo cups in Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Now here at day "10", 17 seeds of the 33 have broke soil. Any other seeds from that germination round that were still left in the paper towels, never sprouted, or barely sprouted so I discarded them as weaklings... Last night I began another round of seed germination with about 70 more seeds. With the hopes of these 70 in this round of germination giving me the rest of the plants I need to move forward. By the end of germination I am hoping to have 40-50 plants to pick through and narrow down to a few keepers of each strain to move to the next round. Then I will have about 18-24 of the 40-50 that I will actually keep around and flower out. Now that I said so many numbers to confuse you, if you even made it this far lmao, I will take clones of the 18-24 and flower them in search of keeper mothers. Let me know if you think I should also take clones off the other ones of the 40-50 that doesn't make it to the 18-24, for future endeavors lol...
They are still on my desk under horrible lighting, but hopefully today I will go to the storage and find my tent, fans and lights.

Also here is a couple pictures of my last grow so you can kind of see what I grow like. I was just running them 12/12 from seed in one gallon pots in Fox Farm Ocean Forest, and I was using Flora Nova veg and Flora Nova bloom. I just grow small plants that produce a quarter ounce to an ounce, sometimes they give me more.

Good to see someone else pushing large numbers in a relatively small tent.
Have ran 40 in a 4 by 2 with minimal veg but found the sweet spot around 20.

Tend to rely on a reveg off the best rather than deal with a lot of clones from the start.

Yeah, when I was growing last before stopping, I pretty much gave up on clones because I have so many seeds I want to run through them and if I happen to find a keeper, I will do like you say and just reveg it. I'm thinking my goal on this run is to find one keeper of each cross to keep as mother plants in a little mother tent, just to have for sure things for clones for future projects, But I will continue on my seeds journey hahaha
Me personally realized I get about the same amount of I flower from the start with seeds, if not more, without having to spend weeks vegging. Plus smaller plants are easier to move

Here is a couple shots of the seeds germinating. Some already in paper towels and the ones soaking I let sit in a small amount of peroxide for about an hour, then I filled the cups with tap water and let them sit to dissipate the chlorine from the tap. This seems to be the only way I have found to get any of my seeds 10+ years old to sprout here and there. I think it keeps em clean and gives them oxygen... But I have a bad memory and am pretty much learning over from scratch again... I know I already know a lot of what I need to know, but starting over from scratch feel like such a NOOB lol
My seeds from 3-4 years ago seem to still sprout in about 48-72 hours. I have grown out and tested the "Desconocida Kush x Garlic Breath", the "Garlic Breath x Garlic Breath", and the "Montana Silvertip x Garlic Breath" in the past. They were all FIRE!
I am interested to test out these "Delhi Friend x Garlic Breath", I can't find any info on Delhi Friend online, seems everyone always just grew the "Incredible Bulk" by the same breeder, but has anyone ever grown that strain? DELHI FRIEND? When I pollinated it with the Garlic Breath, I never grew it before hand to experience the smoke. It was a "FREEBIE" single seed fem, when I flowered it to pollinate, it was short and stalky, and super frosty looked like snow and it smelled like some old school hashish. Can't wait to see what they produce!

Damn I woke up to some unusual noises and it was my big ass cat climbing up shit to get to my plants! His little hungry ass ate about 5 of my plants!
I woke up to him running away all slow and seen my plant flopped over the side of the cup, and I was half asleep so I laughed in my head and thought "Damn I thought they were a bit stretchy, but damn that one flopped all the way over! Wait what? Last night that same plant was bobbing back and forth in front of the fan... There's no way that's natural!" I get closer to investigate and he ate bite marks in that one and ripped it's root off, then he dug up 3-4 other ones, and I found fragments of the baby leafs in different cups it didn't belong! Hahaha
Damn I work hard to even get the seeds to germinate and this dirtball comes and eats them for a snack! Now I see how all the gorilla growers feel when you come to water and a deer ate your plant

So I made it by my storage yesterday, grabbed the 2x4 tent, a fan, and a couple led lights. I grabbed the Growstar S1200 and the Partactworks RA2000. I have a few more lights in storage I wasn't able to get to yet which actually sucks, but these two lights will be good to light up the 2x4. Also I jumped the gun and made a mistake but I will work with it, what I did was I was wanting to get a 2x2 also and so I was looking on marketplace and found one.... Only problem is the lady had it standing different than usual so it looked bigger, lol
I picked it up yesterday for $30 and had to hear the wife complain about "I thought I just bought you a few tents not too long ago...?" Hahaha we all know how that is! Worse part is having to admit I actually messed up and bought a midget
But anyways, I will have to get one of my smaller led lights for this 2x2/that is actually like 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 hahaha
But for now half my seeds from the last round still wouldn't pop soil so I just threw them in the 2x2 and threw the Partactworks light on them (Which I know is too close and also overkill) but that's just how I roll!
Well, at least the over powered light has made the seeds peek above soil finally! Almost 100% for the seeds from the last germination round. I will still search for a REAL 2x2 and just accept this mistake as just an addition to the garden equipment arsenal lol

The tent is supposed to be a clone/seedling tent for like an incubator lol, like this pic.... The lady had it standing up tall so after I bought it I thought "I wonder what that extra bar is for that clips in there" well if you lay the tent down how it is supposed to be, that bar is what you hang your light from if you have like a little long light fixture. Like a florescent. But anyways. I am still working on it all, putting it together and coming up with a plan. I guess if my seeds all sprouted at once I would have liked to have done a 12/12 from seed. But doing rounds of seeds and not having great luck, it seems I will have to keep sprouting until we have what we need and from that point we can establish a plan. Which is cool because I need to order a new fan and try to buy another ACTUAL 2x2 lol that is taller for headspace.

Tried a 2 by 2 to use as a veg tent on its side , soon realised not enougth headroom past a few weeks and just aquired a 4 by 2 that is perfect used like this.
Four foot shop lights were really cheap and fit well , 200 watts of mostly 6500k and they thrive.

Yeah I'm thinking if I even use this tiny one it would be to maybe use the clone dome, or to keep like 4 mother plants alive in one gallon pots bonsai style with a small light that doesn't put off too much heat..

So for the fourth day in a row I woke up to my cat eating my seedlings sprouts... Out of about 100+ seeds he eaten half or more and the ones he didn't eat were not growing great because I had them on my desk under a desk lamp. I have been busy and didn't take the time to set up the 2x4 mainly because the exhaust fan I have is kind of loud and I need to buy a new one. But a loved one has a birthday coming up so I have to do what I can for now. I set up the 2x4 and just opened up a few of the vents on the tent and have a fan circulating air movement in the tent and then the hot air goes out the side and top, fresh air comes in from the bottom pulled by the fan, and I have the Partactworks RA2000 hung and on for now.

Since my cat kept eating me out of house and home just to watch me sit and cry
My plan of 12/12 from seed for now is on hold, but the grow is still moving forward!
I ended up sprouting some more seeds and will just keep sprouting more until I have the numbers I need to move forward. Now my cat just lays next the vent peeking at what I am doing since he can't get to them lol.
I have tons of different seeds but as I was digging through the stash I found some that are a more newer version of the ones I was trying to pop so I am hoping these will have a better time sprouting. Also decided to try a couple different bag seeds from the dispensary. So I am attempting to germinate

I don't really have an overall plan I'd say, but for now the short term plan is get seeds to sprout, keep my cat away, see what all sprouts, bitch slap my cat a couple times, of whatever happens to sprout I will select the strongest. From there weed out the males and undesirables, and pheno hunt through the varieties I end up with for keepers or experimental runs to see what we have and what to keep around, what to get rid of, and what to sprout from there. I am basically doing a practice run in the prayers it all works out. If not I at least hope to secure a few mothers for future grows and keep growing!
