Do Your Critters Like to Get High?

Over the years I have known several animals that loved ganja. mostly dogs, but a few cats and a bird or two. I thought it might be interesting to hear any stories about stoned critters or animals that enjoy eating leaves or buds or that in some way appreciate the plant we love best!

Here are a few pics of Mr. Munchabunch, a mini-dobie / mini dachsund mix , enjoying the herb. He loves the leaves, will get in your face and insist on sniffing the smoke, and overall seems to love weed. It has to be kept put where he cannot get it!Lets hear from all animal lovers who give the very best to their critters!

Here Munch finds a tasty bud fallen on his back.

Then,he sniffs it before trying to get a munch!

The next pics show Munch sniffing and trying to eat some tasty leaves. He would eat the buds if I let him...but he has to wait for brownies just like the rest of us!!

Moving in for the kill!

Leaf firmly in teeth, munch prepares for backing up and seperation; then eating!

I will get some pics of the cats doing their thing but they are so lazy it is hard to tell when they are high !

Chip in and show us YOUR stoner critters!

my friend's 17 year old dog liked people, it comes up to you...doesnt slobber...is very nice.

it likes me so much I get slightly annoyed...and I knew it was kinda mean, but dogs only live once you know....I blew smoke in its face, it kind of backed off and recognized its nose itch and I kept doing it and everytime he would sniff the smoke! My friend was laughing his ass of and the dog still seemed interested in the smoke and he said quit it shes old and cant be that high. lol so I convince him his dog isnt high because he is not directly inhaling and breathing through its nostrils. his dog must have been high...its eyes were MORE bloodshot, it walked a tad bit different and wanted to play.

Kind of weird because the dog had massive arthritis and hadnt played with us in years...kind of just made me sad that it was old and couldnt do this...you know? One of the only things in a dogs life it really really enjoys and it died later that year. This just made me really happy because it was my friends dog from when he was a child and now he is 22 and his animal is in pain and not eating.

Ive seen my friends set up elaborate boxes with straws going in and a cat in there...lol wtf. The also tried sealing the box and taking a bong hit through the cat box so the box would be the bong..like and air bong lol. Very mean people toward their cats and only to the cats..not the dogs though. (the cats do attack your face while youre sleeping though..and no their not cute attacks..they latch onto yer face and try tearing your eyelids off..not joke one of their cats had a hold on my eyelid once for a second).

Not sure about cats bro cant stand the evil buggers myself, but every dog care book i have lists mj under poisons.
Doubtful blowing smoke at a cat or dog will do any real damage i was more harping on about feeding them weed being harmful or so i'm led to believe.

What rare cases? I've heard so many people say they've heard of animals overdosing but I've seen zero evidence to point at. Granted I'm not saying it's cool to give your animals weed (especially edibles), but I hang with animals that enjoy being around the smoke every day. My old roomie's cat would sniff us out everytime we lit something up. From time to time she'd snipe some stale bong hoots sitting on the table. My cat however is the complete opposite, hates any kind of smoke (she's real skittish), so I dont bother her with it.

Don't get them stoned. LET them get stoned.

My dog is epileptic and I've figured out that giving her a small amount of used vape material orally before or immediately after a seizure will prevent another one. Before I figured this out she would have cluster seizures that could last up to three days. Her record was 15 seizures in 72 hours. This occured monthly, and was easily the most stressful single thing in my life. She is on two other seizure medications that as far as I can tell haven't helped at all, although I'm still giving them to her every day. Luckily they're still pretty cheap.

Now that she's using medical marijuana she only has one minor seizure every 60 or so days. It made huge improvement in her quality of life.

I don't know if she enjoys it because I can't ask her, but I always notice she has an extra bounce in her step the next day. She also loves smelling EVERYTHING outside and watching birds and squirrels while she's medicated.

And no, Cannabis is not dangerous to give your dog. It might be a bit unethical if you're doing it just to get them stoned, but it wont hurt them. It's a NON-TOXIC substance.

yup, cats LOVE weed. My cat used to close her eyes and keep her face still as I blew a steady little stream of smoke into her nose. And she would open her eyes when it was over, and she'd sit there and watch me take another hit and I'd lean over and she'd already be going to close her eyes and turn her head up to get it all in her nose. Then I'd give her some food and she'd go to sleep. I think she had cancer or something, probably really helped.

I have a cat that will sneak in the grow room and "trim" fan leaves. He'll also grab branches while you're trimming and run off with them....this is all his choice. I don't give my kitties weed...they take it. My other kitty (I have 5) will wake up out of a dead sleep when he smells weed burning and jump up in your lap and sniff the air....once again all his choice. I have to make him get down and we actually try to avoid smoking around him since he's a Maine Coon and has the breed's heart problems.

Would I blow smoke at my kids? Nope...I love them more than the children I don't have:) I would physically punish anyone that tried to even look at my cats wierd.

one time i was at my friends house, and suddently we couldt find his ball of hashish. turns out his dog ate it, probably around 5-10gr's of decent hash. and trust me that dog wasnt having a good time.. it was very painfull to watch it like that, hard to describe but it was laying it its bed like it normally would when its sleeping, and it was just laying there watching our faces like for hours, with these totally paranoid eyes, lol. and when you just liftet your arm from a distance of lik 1-2 meters it would wink like crazy, and get tottally scared, that dog was fucked up.

omg I had shrooms drying under my futon once and forgot to gate the door up when I went into the kitchen, and I realize it after a few and I walk back into my room and sure enough the dog is there and seemed to have given them a sniff and didn't want them. If he thought they smelled tasty i would have been DEAD. SO dead. Filthy little bastard is sleeping on the bed right now

Thanks for all the replies. Think about it: If herb is harmless to us, in small doses, how can it be bad for any critter? Maybe herb is even MEDICINAL for critters as well as people!! One day veterinarians will likley have weed type med's for animals. Why not? If it works in certain ways, it might benefit some animals. It CERTAINLY is NOT abuse. Absue means giving an anilam alcohol or something that would cause serious physical reactions as wll as total loss of corrdination.

Herb has been around forever: The PROOF it cannot be too bad is the FACT that many dog's LOVE to munch the leaves, at least...and some like the effects. They would not return time and again for tokes if it was foreign to their instinct. That alone is enough reason to treat herb as a POSSIBLE remedy in some conditions and over all is cannot hurt. If an animal shies away from it or doesn't want it, then of course leave it alone.

but if a critter seeks it out and consumes in willingly, who is to say it is not natural? How much more NATURAL can it get than an animal eating a plant? That goes for us aws well as all creation. Do not force it on nyone, or anything, but do not forbid it either.

Back in high school a long time ago, my friend and I were supposed to raise steers for an Future Farmers of America project...

OK, so Tony had this huge 1,000 pound steer that loved marijuana... He would go out back and smoke one and this steer was like a pet and want up around him when he was smoking.

So Tony decided to give it a shotgun and see what happens.. That steer loved it! That thing could take the biggest shot gun hit I ever saw and would definitely inhale on every hit it could. The steer even learned to hold it's breath to get the most out of the hits.

I'm not lying! I saw it myself. Of course this giant steer was like 5 feet wide and 7 feet long... it was huge.

It died because Tony had taught it to roll over when he told it to, and we think it got a twisted gut from that. It weren't normal for a cow to roll over like it did.

Anyway, cows like to get high really a lot. You can't force a 1,000 pound animal to do much, especially smoke.

Chocolate is poison to dogs. I think cats too. MJ is listed as a poison for cats too, not sure about dogs. Now, maybe its just part of the propoganda machine, I don't know, ive never seen any scientific documentation on it, only in regular books that list what is poisonous to them. Some think MJ is poison to human too, lol...
