and long before that my parents made my pay a quarter every time they caught me without it--and vice versa... fun game.

On the other hand--I hate wearing a bicycle helmet.

Usually never in the back, usually always in the front. I can get pulled over for not having one on, and I've seen these fucking Click-it-or-Ticket traps all over. One cop standing on the side of the road near his car, another down the road to pick up the people not wearing a seatbelt. I also look like to much of a stoner and I am always riding a little dirty so I don't take the chance.

However, it is your life. If you want to chance not wearing one I think it should be your right...

Additional food for thought. Go to a junkyard where they let you walk around the boneyard, I visit these locations quite frequently, and more than once I've seen head imprints in the drivers side windshield.

One of them had blood and bits of hair in the cracks... There was no chance of this occuring with a seatbelt. Imagine breaking your windshield with your head. Ouch.

O said, ive lived it...8 totaled cars and 2 motorcycles...emt put tarp over me in last one...head on...me 4O..them 6O...all the side windows exploded...no seat belt and ouch..,i f i had been clicked i wouldnt have gotten so messed up, but the engine in my lap was unavoidable...

now in truck and would have had my head crushed if ild been wearing 1 ...it flipped like a cartwheel ...fl over then rr tire over 3 times...weeee

as a kid there were none in the car to wear...lol

I wear my belt all the time now. I have kids who need a dad, and family that loves me.

Not to mention loosing 2 verry good friends in the last few years to careless car accidents.

Completely agree.

It is irresponsible not to wear a seat belt. Do you guys include passengers not wearing a seat belt? Because if that's the case, you better hope no one is behind you if you ever do crash.

Why not spend an extra 5 seconds and stay safe eh?

one of my best friends died last month because of a motorcycle tire blowout, no helmet..everyone always told him to get one..its sad

im a good driver, but i seem to own bullseyes w/wheels...head on i got paid...my son was in car seat in back of car...not a scratch...put your kids in seats...we were 5 miles from house....please...the kid cant

motorcycles now are a different story which i have 35+ yrs w/...just got to expect a tumble...but hitting bare railroad ties at 80 on street bike was suddenly up lifting to say the least...you ever seen ADNOH burnee onto someones inner thighs?

I always where mine. When I was training for my current job, my trainer kept telling me I didn't need to wear my belt yadda yadda. Later that day he got spotted by a robocop and got himself a nice little ticket...yes I rubbed it in. Just today I got rear ended in the company truck, without a seatbelt on who knows what woulda happened, I feel crappy enough as it is.

I owned a Miata for awhile and never wore my seatbelt. I figured my best chance for survival in an accident with that car would be getting ejected.

I was late for one of the most important meetings in my life because I was pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt. It was also the most embarrassing moment too when I had to explain why I was late. Plus not to mention the fine and 2 points.

My seatbelt now goes on before the key goes in the ignition.

i used to be a bit of a seat belt law rebel, but am afraid of and can't afford the ticket, so pretty much always wear it now.

I got a ticket for not wearing my seat belt in AL. Its a $25 fine if you have a regular license and your driving a passenger vehicle. If you have a CDL License and your driving a semi or any vehicle that requires your CDL its only a $10 fine. That makes no sense to me. Also no points go against your driving record for a seat belt fine. Thats how it is in AL anyway.
