Do you have rules?

NEED 4 SEED

I've burned a lot of $ with cheap and expensive packs of polyhybrids and even with supposed IBLs and established strains, where a lot of them never grew something worthwhile.

For the most part it still is a game and big numbers win in the long run. But the good strains are also out there.

The most expensive seeds I bought were Chimera's Cooks at 20 a seed.

I was able to get 25 seeds in total and I am still glad I did those. I guess I will be still crossing the shit out of them in 10 years because they add so much to the equation. It's crazy stuff and was worth every penny.

But I also had this SSH from GHS which did cost only 7 per seed and was also some of the craziest stuff ever.

Insert here the usual "wish I was into cloning back then" phrase...
So I am still buying the irrational polys, putting them away for later use and also plan for getting more IBLs to have more stable breeding partners.

Bought also a good amount of S1s of classics.

Its simply too much fun to skip one part of the game.

When you buy seeds at 10 bucks a pop, make crosses, natch.

I have thunk, old school White Rhino, and sensi star x nycd.

Making crosses, some S1's, been happy with the down stream cultivars
for years now.

Have had guys beg me for quarter pounds of yield of the modest plants I grow.

What is it that you're looking for with all that coin you drop anyway.

I have seen seeds as well as cuttings that were grown, where they achieved different results. The same seeds will perform differently under certain conditions. I have harvested flowers from the same plant, that were a week apart that were completely different. Sometimes its not the seed that is the dud but the growers technic that is the dud.

Bulkseeds are the picture flipping bad guys here, or they just stole a stolen, already flipped, badly photo shopped image that's also resized to shit and rolled with it. Either way, shady as shit to use other peoples stuff to sell your stuff. The picture isn't even WW like they claim.

It's a picture of a Female Seeds WW x BB, which Female Seeds was kind enough to ask if they could use it for their shop and catalog. That's cool.

I know 'cause I grew the damn shit, took the picture and uploaded it 14 or 15 years ago to ICmag.

So yea, don't know about Bulkseeds quality. But if you gotta use ancient pictures to move your shit, and you can't even be bothered to steal a picture with the right strain.. Well they are just asking to be pooped on.

Wonder if I could sue em for copyright infringement and royalties. Prolly not. But I don't need a judge to tell me they are scumbags, and bad at photoshopping images.

I have question for all of you. Do any of you buy those $100.00 strains? Being a novice I do not know shit. What I know is the strains I want and a lot of other people are the high dollar strains. Is it safe to say that these are the landrace or heirloom strains. Do not get me wrong i like hybrids and crosses, but I also want pure seed so i can have a fresh start if I want to make a cross. Just my 2 cents.

I've bought quite a few, but they were mostly Mr. Nice (20 seeds) or something on seedbay. For cheaper seeds Nirvana had a few I liked and I really liked Mandala Satori.

I like to grow out my bag seed, some of the nicest shit I've smoked came from unknown seed. I did get a tent full of late hermies last run though, so it doesn't always turn out great, but 3 of 4 plants were still really nice to smoke on. I'm currently looking at getting some proper genetics from a seed co, there's so much out there it's almost mind boggling, plus I live pretty far from everything so getting them here can eb a pain too. Will likely go with a fellow IC magger though, Karma's stuff looks really promising and I love a good OG too.

When personal cultivation became legal here in Guam earlier in 2019, I established some rules for myself. As far as buying seeds, always be able to trace the parents back to the original true P1 stock. If you can't, then make sure it's a breeder that is active enough online that you have as much info as possible. So that rules out most of the "flavor of the month" strains, and anything from a breeder who wasn't the original (e.g., no Widow if it isn't Shanti's, although I actually don't grow that one).

That being said, I'll rarely turn down seeds or cuts given to me, but I do not go by the name given to me. Always make sure to say "was given to me as ____ but I'm not really sure."

Another rule is more common sense than anything, but I never refer to a seed line of an elite clone as the clone's name. It gets kind of tricky, but I don't feel comfortable calling some OG seeds "OG." Same goes for Sour D, Green Crack, etc. Of course, sticking to rule #1 makes this almost unnecessary since I don't grow many of these, but I've been given cuts of things grown from seed and because of rule #2, I don't really ever turn them down.

But it really comes down to being open and accurate about the genetics in my possession. If I'm unable to be accurate, then I definitely won't buy the seeds, but I might grow it if it's given to me. Don't want to pass on a potential keeper that falls into my lap just because I don't know much about it.
