So word on the street is that the 2.0 is a stardog cross. Kinda obvious I guess, fire weed none the less.. Just marketing it as pure cookies is kinda shady in my opinion! But all is fair in the seed game I guess...

Read the damn thread before spewing bullshit please. It's in the first goddamn post. Read it and correct the goons on the street. You can end the ignorance!

It seems much more likely that the bagseed was either outcrossed after the s1 was popped, or the seeds were made from stray pollen crossed to the OGKB and are not pure s1s.

I'm not a believer that the first documented pure male from a s1 was found in 4 bagseed of the most hyped strain in the last decade.

where do you think the strain came from? The Cookie club was getting packs that a few seeds in them and they were collecting them and heard they were even offering to patients to collect the seeds and bring them back into the club and trade them for trees. OGKB was just lucky enough to own a dispensary that was at one time highly endorsed by the cookie family so they were running hundred of pounds of indoor and collecting what seeds they could since they were able to get the clone it was still under heavy lock at the time from the crew so why wouldnt it make sense that this hyped strain that came from a hermi problem would then also hermi and produce more awarding winning offspring? Its basic breeding principals playing out in the wild and with social media you were able to have a front row seat to the show.

just like the Bubba S1's producing a male right? pollen contamination seems likely.

I have had feminized seeds produce male plants, and when I used the pollen from those plants on females they produced seeds. Haven't popped them as I have been sitting on plenty of beans and really enjoying what I'm currently running, but I would assume them to be fertile. I just think it's really a genetic lottery if you're looking for a male from s1s or hermi beans, and Chunky saw what luck had given him and worked with it. Props to him for making cookie genetics available to everyone and sharing the 2.0! I recently had a friend tell me he considered the 2.0 to be superior to the forum, she is just that nice :joint:

Ohh? Pretty sure it wont be the first documented male from feminized. Heres what i dont get, did cookie fam or OGKB ever confirm that they wern’t breaders & there for never came into contact with males? Sure most likely selfed or from a plant that hermied next to it but if if you had a bunch o males its not unreasonable that seeds found could be from contamination.

Well I'm not getting into the male or hermie showing strong male dominance.
But I have 5 of chunky's Dubb x Cookieboi vegging, if I get a male then its a male to me, if all fem then I will go with the latter.

I've smoked the 2.0 and it's legit for sure. Super heavy. Much more so than Forum. Certainly didn't taste like there was any Stardawg in it from my perspective.

I even told Chunky I had previously just dismissed the clone as trade bait. I tend to be fairly, well...Frank. I also told him I was wrong in that assumption.

S1 lines are XX lines. It is impossible from them to produce an XY plant, because their is no male present. However, I believe Hummus Monk is telling the truth when he said he got a "male" out of Chem '91 S1 seeds made by Cob Coop. That "male", when used, bred seeds that give normal offspring rates, ie male and female in the standard expected ratios. Theoretically, these are all XX offspring behaving in a completely abnormal way.

Only way to really "KNOW" is to test the lines and see what is really happening on paper. I do believe people (I trust) when they say they are getting "XX males" in feminized seed.

I've seen a plant throwing only pistils get cloned, revegged, and then through only balls. Never another pistil. Never an instability or a random pistil in over 3 years of the plant just hanging around. When I finally talked Phillthy into using that male, it produced incredible offspring. Some of the best plants I've ever come across.

Phillthy's freak reveg male, SSH x Chem D IBL, and I trust him.

This is what that freak reversion of a plant turned a more squat indica leaning Larry OG S1 into:

My only point for commenting is cannabis is so insanely hybridized at this point, an S1 of a plant is not going to breed in any way more remotely true to type per say than outcrossing to a male. Only difference, the genetic variation that you see, is only a result of the gene pool from the female. It's good insight into how a clone may breed, but it is not a short cut to stability or by default going to produce an improvement or distinctly similar pheno.

Work with what surfaces in your own gardens and keep moving forward with the best of what you get. Moral of the story...just keep growing.
