DO-IT-YOURSELF Carbon Dioxide(Co2)

Mr Piff, the Q u asked is worn out, did you bother to research CO2, fermentation, output and the like? Dead horse.

C'mon, you can do better than that,

The subject of Yeast CO2 has been beat to death on these boards over the years. Lots of information if you do a search. Types of yeast, temps, volumes, just about everything you can think of. It does work, but only for very small cabinet type grows.

Lets keep this thread alive, for us who are interested.
hey ty, i mean no disrespect, but, if you are not interested in the thread, there is no need to post.
I see atleast 5 other ic'ers here that are interested in this.
I know how to use the search feature, I use it often. I thought the point of the forum is to post information, ask questions, get answers, and share experiences. Not to tell someone what they should be doing with there time.
Most of the info I come across is by users that say "I think".
If you know about the subject, then why not post some info, or a link to a relevant thread?
This is a thread about co2, (which is a valid topic for this forum "Growroom designs and Equipment").
So please. If you want to come to my thread to complain, just overlook it, no need to post nonsence.
Thanks...

blinddate: Thanks for the simple, yet, informative answer. I have read up on it, no one has a straight answer for me, this is the first ive seen :). If u dont mind, maybe you can share a thread that may be useful to us. My search has turned up minimal info that applies to this topic :'(. Maybe Im just missing something.

Yeast-generated CO2 is an old trick used by people with planted aquaria. Same principle. I've tried it in my aquarium, and I wouldn't recommend it. It is impossible to control the CO2 level, it's not very consistent over time as the yeast colony grows and dies, it stinks when you have to change the mixture out, and if you're not careful and your airline gets clogged you can have a major explosion that smells like beer vomit. On the bright side, it's easy and inexpensive.

Hey, for those who are interested:

A fellow ic'er has already done the experiment, hours of research led me to this thread, hopefully can share with everyone.

To make a long thread short, he has had success with this method, using a ppm monitor he kept his co2 levels stable with the yeast method.
He seemed to have a good success, unfortunatly he disappeared from the forums before he finished (i prey that he is ok).

Hey Pif.......

Hey Pif.......

Didn't see you had posted the link. Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, everything turned out cool. Just had to patch a hole in a slow leak in a tire if you know what I mean.

You'll hear that yeast doesn't work but it does. Not as easy as the tank thing but at a fraction of the cost in equipment. The Cap-3 will set you back close to 4 bills but wanted to put numbers to what my Ladies of Green were already telling me. It is a little work and you have to stay on top of it but the proof is in the pics. I had constant air flow in and out. Room was rather small. 3 x 5 x 8.5 but put out 18oz every 60days. (under a 1000w HPS and we are talking the finest trim and cure anyone can give)

The point with all this is we all have different setups, situations, level of achievement with the craft, goals, and most importantly dedication. You have to find what works for you and refine it. The numbers are a science..... the whispers the Green Ladies put in your ears are the art. Both are important but at different times. No questions or challenges are stupid or annoying unless you don't try. There are those that have forgotten the love.... that is what the craft is about. Not grams or $$$$. Keep doin' what you are doing and keep the craft alive.

In the 70s, when I started and became addicted to the ladies not the product although I have found those very pleasant, we only dreamed of the things some make fun of the "nubees" for starting with. Now look at it, we have regular people practicing advanced horticulture with a dash of molecular biology, with minors in H-vac, hydrology, and electrical engineering.

Keep it going. Some of us may be refugees from the lost continent of OG and using ever increasingly long strings of new names but you are exactly right about what the forums are about. It is like we are all sitting down in an abstract circle and passing the bong of knowledge around, and each time we reload, there are always new and fresh sparkles from the trichs.

Peace
