Do I need to buy Government seeds

I think a lot of this depends what part of the country one lives in.I know for certain if I got nabbed with a pack of seeds here on the east coast in a small town I would def.end up being charged.I,ve seen it happen to a few ppl. I know.I have yet to hear of anyone walking away without a charge if they got caught with even a few seeds,at least in this part of the country.I can,t keep my seeds in the fridge :I have to bury them outside under the sod.....
Interesting nonetheless listening to others and their take on the matter.

I've been recently signed up medically for the first time, in what I'd say, as protest of a failed system. Actually, it is a working system, and therein lay the problem. I guess how you view things just depends on what side of the top ~3% of the fence you sit on.

I went to see an "activist" doctor that wouldn't waste my time and to see what it was all about. I found this doctor had his own designs, going so far as to imply on his website that his patients are "monsters", created by the government, and only he, a doctor, should be in control of things, over health canada, and what's more, over the patients. Health Canada is obviously not working in our interest, but it is clear that neither will someone like that.

At the time he was trying to set up a grow co-op, whereupon he had no involvement, and could not profit from, other than the fact they'd only service his patients, whom he charges for visits, and was basically lobbying to have such a program be the sole source while discouraging anyone from growing their own, which would make them "monsters". He even cut all of his non favored patients' prescriptions by half unilaterally, to make them less monstrous.

Sitting in the waiting room I could not help but get the impression I needed to retain a lawyer were I to go through with this, as it seemed like everyone there was discussing a pending court case. I found that I was given a lot of bad advice and wrong impressions throughout this process, contrast to what the laws actually are.

I won't go into great detail as to all the specifics of that, but I will say that I was told I _will_ and _have to_ buy government seeds, which frankly I don't support in principle. I was told that not doing so would take longer, may not pass, and arouse suspicion as it is illegal to buy seeds and that they'd start asking where I would get them from. Interesting that one should be so fearful as to one single aspect of that, and of what I would call far less concern, than to say they're legal the second the prescription is signed with a hollow promise to stand behind you should anyone come knocking before the card is in. I think it's clearly more of a situation of one hand washing the other.

Of course, in sending in the forms, I found you didn't even have an option to buy seeds along with the application, but instead could only apply to buy them, which constrasts previous warnings, though it may be true applying might speed things up, and it damn well shouldn't.

So now I'm licensed to purchase government seeds, one time. If I ever do get setup to grow, which is looking highly unlikely at this point, I will do so with proper genetics, that I've thoroughly researched, and that have a plethora of information available on them. There very fact they only offer one single type is laughable in itself and I think should be enough of an argument to win a court case in such a matter. There is no one type of painkiller, there is no size fits all cough medicine... it is once again the government doing the bare minimum required of them by court order which allowed them to reinstate unjust laws, with the intent of working toward pharmaceutical companies having full control eventually, to appease our neighbours. Sadly, my sense of reason fails to operate this way.

I now have papers that grant my legal exemption, while the card is "still in the mail", another laugh by itself. There's no practical reason for cards to take so long, it's just another means of resistance, in doing the least they possibly can to comply with expectations, that I think we've been all too lenient with. I find that your average cop is rather unlikely to accept a ratty sheet of paper you've carried in your wallet as any kind of official proof, and in this day and age that possibly invites one's demise by way of "excited delirium".

The "information you should know" that I received in my packet for the personal use production license mentions a number of things it doesn't allow you:

-Others to produce on your behalf
-Doesn't allow others to have any of your weed, including seeds, in their possession.
-Doesnt' allow you to take your weed, including seeds, outside of Canada or to otherwise export it from Canada.
-Doesn't allow you to take your weed, including seeds, into Canada or otherwise import it into Canada.
-Doesn't allow yout o carry weed, including seeds, with your when you enter or when you leave Canada. (What are they on to require such redundancy... power?)
-It doesn't allow you to sell or give any of your weed, including seeds, to others.
-Doesn't apply to any derivatives of weed such as hash, oil, etc.

So by omission, you're able to purchase them solely within canada, but you can't sell them or give them away. This they call "making available" as per prior court requirements for them to do so.

The last line is quite interesting as well, in that elsewhere it states that they expect you to respect others and take consideration of second hand smoke in public, as it's for your personal use only, while banning derivatives. So it's legal to use as medication if you stay in your hole, and speaking of hole, I suspect these medical exemption lists are where you sign up to bring you there.

The number of holes in the medical program is amazing. I feel the whole point of being able to produce your own cannabis is so you can make a choice about your which medical strain works for you. But maybe I'm wrong. With all the deadly drug reactions, overdoses, and schizophrenia that marijuana causes and with all the extensive research Health Canada has done, they must have picked the exact strain with the perfect chemical profile that is safe for us to use.......

P.S. Chimera just ordered Fighting Buddha seeds, but don't worry I know you are concerned for my health so I want grow them. But, if they happen to grow all on their own I will personally burn them so no one can get harmed.

Peace

HC seed is failing the test - IMO poorly bred - so far, I have seen 3 different phenos (not stable), and a 1 was a hermaphrodite that showed straight hairs in preflowering, but once she hit the flowerspace, balls everwhere, mixed w.hairs. (hermi genes)

Fortunately, caught the genderbender before heshe popped!

2 remain. Only 1 is flowering "properly", and has stretched to about 4', and has buds forming. The other has not even started yet, and has to sit on an updside down 5 gal to keep the canopy even. Buy your seeds wherever you can, and avoid wasting your time like I have. At best I may see 2-3 oz this run, after 3-4 months of time wasted.

Ppl may say it's illegal to sell seeds. I am skeptical, our headshop has em, and the cops let it be. May pop over soon...

But even so, like buds - once they hit your possession as a licensee, it's legal as long as counts are not exceeded. Plus the guy above called them - proof enuff for me, and I just don't care anymore. They had their chance. I will not start their seed again, still have 25 from the 1st package. IMO, bird food.

So far, to the myth "HC seeds are crap", I say "Myth Confirmed!! (at least genetically, we'll see how what remains flowers out)

edit: I still don't have a plastic card either, and I got my papers in 2010!!

I just got a call from Health Canada the other day and the lady said that they are printing them again. To me it sounded like they just stopped printing them for a time. I like how I can go to a club and get a card printed in 5 minutes but the Government takes weeks to do it. Really making the card should be a 10 minute process. I have just resigned myself to the fact that I am not getting one. Maybe upon renewal?

Maybe you could see this court case to the end instead of coping a deal this time around.

WTF are you talking about? This ISN'T a criminal matter this is being fought in CIVIL court. Now if anyone will be trying to make a deal it will be Health Canada and the only deal that I am interested in is making it so patients can purchase seeds from ANYONE they want even if the company is located in another country other than Canada.

Take Care and Peace
