do clones lose potency??.....

Bambi you mentioned the clone developed a funky fungi? Its easy to understand how vigor can be lost in that situation. If you can keep your clones in good health, and take all cuttings in veg starting with the seedplant,I'm sure the length of time would be indefinate.I can tell you from experience that 2 years time does nothing to mutate or change my clones in any way I've noticed, except I know the pheno now and can grow it to its full potential.

Correction for everyone just to fill in the blanks here....
Clone, from a clone, from a clone, does not normally lead to a degredation of the genes, providing that they all are healthy....
However there are retro virus's out there that can and will attack a plant and change the way it grows...
With that being said if you take a clone from that plant, your passing on the virus, or malady for lack of a better term....
As for age of a clone you can theoretically keep a clone forever with no loss to it's genes but, if it gets sick and you keep passing the virus down the lines thats when you run into problems...
The genes are still the same but the plant won't grow the same....
Hope this clears things up for most ppl...

yeh, thus taking diseases / bad environment / ... out of the question. Clones do not change genetically, thus if you flower a clone from a clone from a clone from a clone from ... The potency potential will NOT be changed

Cheers skeletor' yea the clones i got had white spot ! i think thats whats its called ? gone once vegged up though, i suppose my friend could be so used to smoking this A/pink clone hes simply built up to high a tollerance is a good theory to this statement i origionaly made,
as me mate were smokeing this one strain alot more than any other we both come accross,
Do you no if any traits can change in cloned clones like colour , or colour in the pistels etc from cloning over and over like this one ? or others that have been around alot longer even. ?
il try taking some clones at the end of vege stage next time,
ive usually done this the 1st - 2nd week in flower.

This has been most interesting indeed, lojoy '
learning never stops does it, the more opened minded i am, the more i learn.
forget were i read that, but its so true to that.

peace and joy,
bambi.

Nothing has changed that I can notice about the strain, its as good as it ever was.Its a good idea you're going to start taking cuttings before 12/12,you want to start with good "veg" cuttings as free of pistils as possible. The changes that you would notice if you took the seedplant cuttings a couple weeks into flower or any clones thereafter,is eventually you're going to have a very pistilly plant in the veg stage, you want to avoid this as best you can.Its going to happen, almost always to a certain degree, but pistil;s are a vegging clones worst enemy, you dont want them around if at all possible.I've also noticed mutated fan leaves when cuttings are taken after 12/12,I hate when I see retarded looking fans with single blades or 3 blades. It just doesnt look right lol! Some strains will retard up quicker than others when cuttings are taken in flower, its just best to avoid that situation altogether.I just plan on taking them the day they go into the flower room
