So some fortunate growers have drains at their "disposal"
Unfortunately for me the last couple grow spaces have not had that luxury. So removing the runoff from around 600 plants had been quite the job with lots of trips to empty my shopvac. This was getting very time consuming and tiresome. So, came up with a solution that i love and has made my life so much easier and drier.
There are 26- 12x4 tables that each have a collection reservoir for the waste runoff from the plants. SO that is a lot of water to remove. Now takes me about a half hour to do the job.
Basic 55 gallon drum with lid
16 gallon rigid shopvac
Small sump pump(1/4hp)
garden hose adapter
Garden hose(goodyear all day)
Its crazy how they fit so well together, it was like it was meant to be. Just cut the bottom off the shopvac and slide her into the lid that already cutout. When the barrel gets about 1/5 full the sump pump turns on and pumps the water out as you continue to vacuum. The sump pump keeps up with the vacuums sucking power so you never have to stop to empty.
Just connect your hose and run to a sink or outside and your set. I suggest using a 3 way plug and extension cord, that way you can plug the vacuum and pump in with the same cord. We try to avoid it but lets face it, spills happen. You want to have one of these around when it does. I just set it up and walk away when that happens.
If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for lookin!
